“What happened” asked the Doctor? Martha explained. “Jack and Mickey transported Donna and myself to the Tardis using vortex manipulators and then we received a message from a future you giving the Tardis coordinates in order to save you and that’s the story”.
“My future self eh. Was he handsome and young and talented? Never mind that, we have a moon to save. So, shadows on the moon that are using the light from the moon to project themselves onto earth for some strange reason. How do we stop that from happening”?
All four companions stared at one another. None of them knowing nothing to do. A ringing sound blasted from The Doctors sonic screwdriver. “Aah. I got a message. It says: LIGHT. Whatever that means. Light. Light. What could that mean? Light. Oh. Oh, of course”.
Jack was the first to ask, “Doctor what does light mean”? The Doctors face lit up like a light bulb. “If all of earth is dark, in which it usually is at night then the light from the moon appears and that’s how The Vashta Nerada will transport from the moon to earth. But if the earth is covered in light, then it means that there would be too much light for the Vashta to move from the moon and too much light for a shadow makes it disappear, thus killing the shadows. Oh, its brilliant. Fantastic. Molto Bene. How did I not think of that? And who sent me that message. Only someone with my private sonic sync can send me messages. Oi. Jack and Mickey. You have vortex manipulators. Can you transport to earth and spread the word. We need light covering every continent. We need the word out. Go to UNIT they can help you”.
The manipulators became fully charged as The Doctor sonicked them and off they went. Without a goodbye. The Doctor flew the Tardis in range to see the Earth in a perfect position and it glowed. Earth was like a star. And all the shadows vanished.
“Thank you Martha. Without you Earth would be in danger. I better get you back to Torchwood so I can show Donna Midnight”. And just like that The Doctor flew the Tardis away.
