"You spied on Farkle and I.. found out I was pregnant.. and then you told Smackle and Zay to use it against me..?" I whispered. Tears were rolling down my face. Maya, the only person in the world I thought I could trust, betrayed me.

"That's right." Maya said, without flinching.

"Why?!" I yelled, looking up. "Why would you do this to me?!"

"Because you betrayed me." Maya said. Her face was red and her eyes were squinted. She looked as if she was crying too.

"How did I betray you?" Tears were rushing down my face. First, Smackle and Zay threatened me. Then, I had to date Lucas. Then, Farkle yelled at me. Now, Maya had betrayed me. For no reason. Would could I have possibly done? I was the victim here. I had a child growing inside of me. Not Maya.

"You don't even know, do you?" she asked. She wasn't looking at me.

"No, I don't, could you please tell me?" I asked, rudely. I wanted to slap Maya. I was so mad. I thought she was my best friend. I guess not.

"Riley, told you. I told you so many times. I love Farkle." Maya whispered it.

"That doesn't give you the right to go tell Smackle and Zay my secret!" I yelled. "You're a horrible friend! Don't ever talk to me again! I hate you!" I ran out of her house, sobbing. There was no one left to talk too. No one left to love me. No one left to make me feel good. No one except for one person.

I stepped into the gas station, a $5 bill in my hand. The one I was going to use on Maya's present, but I never got the chance. Making sure it was between 2:00 pm and 5:00 am, I looked over at the front desk.

"Hi Riley." James said.

"Hi." I said, handing him my money. "A diet coke please." He tossed me one from behind the counter. I opened it and took a sip, he gave me three dollars back.

"Anything you want to talk about?" he asked, looking outside the window.

"What was your friend's name?" I asked.

"Her name was Katy." he said.

"Did you guys ever turn on her?" I said, looking away. I was afraid he was going to ask me what happened. I didn't want to talk about my horrible friends. How they treat me.

"Some of us did."  he looked down. "There was 5 of us. Katy, Dan, Natalie, Maddie and me. Dan and Maddie had betrayed her. Dan had because Dan was Katy's boyfriend. He had felt depressed and betrayed.  He left town and I never saw him again. He was my best friend." James looked away. Dan had reminded me of how Farkle reacted, and how Lucas might have reacted.

"What about Maddie?" I asked, sipping my coke.

"Maddie was Katy's best friend. She was mad at Katy for getting herself in so much trouble, and refused to help her. She made Katy's life a living he-" he stopped and looked at me, not sure if I could handle bad words. If I was my old self, I couldn't, but ever since I was pregnant, I felt more mature. I nodded. "Hell." he said.

"How so?" I asked.

"She had sent her threats, left notes in her locked, bullied her, tried to kill her." I gasped. Maddie seemed like Smackle and Maya. Would they try and kill me?

"Riley, honey, it's almost 8:00. Shouldn't you be getting home?" he asked. I nodded and left without saying a word. I was so worried about everything. I ran all the way home.

Then I crawled through the window, and I knew what I had to do next.

I had to tell my mother I was pregnant.
