Eli's POV

I woke up in a panic as I always did. The nightmares haunting me night after night. Her face was engraved in my brain, no matter what I couldn't save her. I laid awake for a few more hours till it was time for school. I made my way to the bathroom and looked at the bags under my eyes from countless nights without sleep. I took a quick shower and dressed in my usual, t-shirt and jeans and hopped in my car and drove to school.

"Hey man!" Rodney my best friend yelled to me as I made my way into the building. "Hey bud." I said slapping my hand on his back. "Having another party this weekend?" He asked me. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah man, you know my dad isn't home." I said. He gave me a thumbs up and headed to class.

When I entered class , I heard Mr. Addams yell at me for being late. I rolled my eyes and sat down in my desk. "Okay well now that Eli has graced us with his presence let's move on." I looked out the window and started to zone out like I usually did.

"Eli, Eli!" Mr. Addams yelled at me. "Sup teach?" I asked being awoken from my daydreams. Mr. Addams rolled his eyes, "You are partners with Ms. Walker, I expect you don't make her do all the work." I rolled my eyes and made my way over to where little quiet Allison Walker was sitting, in the corner of the room.

I grabbed a chair and sat facing her. She glanced up from her notes to quickly look at me. "Yes?" she said as she continued to write. "Didn't ya hear? You are the lucky girl who gets to be my partner?" She snorted, "Right..lucky."

At first I was offended, no girl ever talked to me like this. But she had fire in her, and I liked it a little too much.
