Bramble turned from her position at the window and looked at the paper in her hand.

"Rain, 90-333-333"

She grinned at the askew scrawl on the paper. This was the first time she'd ever got a mare's number without having to ask. All the other times they were just up for a bit of rockin' and rollin' if you know what I mean. And clearly, Rain was NOT interested in that. Well, not yet anyway...

Bramble immediately ran over to the pile of clutter that somewhat contained her phone, and put her number into her contacts, under the name "Sxc Beeest ❤️". She laughed at her own stupidity, and threw herself onto her bed...

Rain was still running through the forest. She was running past trees and shrubs that she was sure that she had passed already. In other words, she was lost. Without hope or spirit, she slumped down on the ground and began to cry.  After about 2 minutes into her tear-fest, she dried her eyes.

"Right," she whispered to herself, "Crying isn't going to help anything." She stood up on all fours and began walking again. Only this time keeping to her right. She read once in one of her  books that if you are ever lost, that you should keep on the right. Well that turned out to be a lie. She didn't give up, and kept on going, and going, and going. And as she kept going, the sky kept getting darker.  And then, something fell out of the trees;

"HIYA!"

And with that, Rain hit the ground with a rather loud thud, and a screech that shook the birds out of the trees. It was Bramble.

"Oh my goodness, you scared me!" Rain giggled. She wasn't sure whether she should cry or laugh, so she did a little bit of both.

Bramble shrugged. "So; You're still encircling the forest then?" She said with a lopsided grin. "You can stay with me if you want. It's getting dark, and we all know who comes out after dark." She rolled her eyes, but still smiled. Rain nodded, and her face went red as Bramble put her wing over her shoulder. She liked it just a little. They stood up in unison, and retraced their steps back to Bramble's house.

"So-uh... how did you end up here then?" Bramble said with a slight smile.

"I was running,"

"From who?"

"Prim."

Bramble stopped dead in her tracks when she heard that very word. Prim. Prim hated her. She heaved in a breath, then let out a loud sigh. "Prim...get you." she mumbled.

Rain jumped back, with tears threatening to leave her eyes. "D-d-did I say something wrong?" She said, almost hesitantly.

"No! N-no! It's just me; I don't think prim should do that to such.. pretty.. mares," Bramble trailed off as she looked up at Rain, who was the brightest shade of red that you could imagine. Tears stained her cheeks. She looked Bramble in the eyes before laughing. "Oh be serious!" She giggled.

Bramble laughed with her and unlocked the door to her house. "Well, here it is; my humble abode..."
