Nolan's POV

Fücking hell. The shrilling sound of my alarm blared straight into my ears. I groaned, annoyed at the fact I had to wake up so early from now on.

I unwillingly dragged my body out of my bed, stretching my arm muscles in the process. It amazed me that the school let me back in. That was the last thing I expected to happen this year.

My movements were sluggish as I started to get ready. The house was completely silent, which wasn't out of the ordinary.

I threw on my clothes and made my way downstairs to leave. Since yesterday, my thoughts kept travelling back to the fiery girl. Ava. Her wild untamed hair stood out clearly in my mind, while her piercing grey eyes were unlike any I've seen before.

Every word she had spoken left me more intrigued in her, desperately wanting more. My interest for women never left me wanting more than what we'd have for one night, but it seemed to be different with her the moment we met.

These fücking feelings that she sparked didn't settle well with me. I didn't believe in following your feelings and love. Especially love. I just needed to push her out of my mind, starting with trying to forget her name.

I walked out and took my sweet time as I made my way towards my car, knowing I would end up late to school anyways.

Finally arriving at school, I parked and started to make my way towards the entrance. I walked in to the sight of people scattered around the hallway.

Suddenly, I felt something knock into me from behind with full force. Realizing it was a body, I growled as I whipped around to snap at this person, but i stopped myself when I noticed it was a familiar face.

"Dude! You've finally came back." My angrier faded at the sight of Tate's blinding smile. Before I could reply, he already started talking again.

"So how was it in the slammer? Did you beat some guys up? Join a gang? Drop the soap?" I rolled my eyes at his ridiculous questions and turned to walk away choosing to ignore him. Tate hadn't changed a bit.

Not letting my silence phase him, I could hear his footsteps following me as I made my way down the hall. Matching his pace with mine, he threw his arm around my shoulders giving me a slight shake.

"Always a man of few words. So anyway I know this might be a sensitive topic, but when was the last time you got puss*y?" My eyes widened at his question and I let out a low growl in frustration.

Tate instantly removed his arm off of me holding both up in defense.

"Hey hey no need to get all cranky. It was just an innocent question."

"Innocent my ass.. You were just trying to get a rise out of me." I mumbled. My face broke out into a sinister smile as a thought just occurred to me.

"So Tate how is Shay doing?" At the sound of her name, he instantly froze, causing his smile to disappear.

"That's a fucking low blow Nolan." I shrugged my shoulders at that.

"It was just an innocent question." To my knowledge, the two of them were doing fine. From what I remember before I left, their faces were plastered to each other's majority of the time I was around them.
