For those who have read this story before, you may have noticed a few minor changes or edits. I rewrote some chapters and fixed some potential future plot holes because believe it or not I started this story way back in early 2015 when I was thirteen. Little did I know back then the truly incredible response I would get from readers. From late 2015 to the beginning of 2018, I actually forgot I ever posted this story, so I was shocked when I logged in for the first time in over two years to find that my only story had two thousand reads! I posted a few more chapters out of gratitude to you all and now here we are less than a year later, with almost six thousand reads. You all mean the world to me and I say "we" because there wouldn't be a story if you all didn't motivate me to continue it.
I started this story when I was having trouble at home, and thinking of living somewhere else where I would treated like every kid deserved to be treated helped me get through it. I never got along well with my dad and even less with my stepmother, and then in the summer of 2015 I got kicked out after I told them both how I felt. This led to the two year hiatus some of you may have noticed. Since then I've grown and shed the shell of an insecure, self harming little thirteen year old feeling like there wasn't a place in the world she belonged. Your support means the world to me and this entire book goes out to all the people who felt trapped like I did. Welcome home to your escape.
