Chapter14-Christmas

Tommy laid me down in bed and turned around so I could put my underwear and bra on.

"You know you don't have to do that." I said, grabbing my t-shirt.

"If your mom walks in, I don't want her seeing me violating your privacy."

"You're my boyfriend. More than that, to be honest."

"It'll make more sense later. I promise."

I rolled my eyes. "Well I hate to break it to you but I need help."

He turned around and walked over to me. He took my shirt from me and rolled it up so the arm holes were opened. "Alright, left arm first."

I slipped my arms through then my head. "Thanks. That didn't kill you, did it?"

He rolled his eyes. "Has anyone ever told you how dramatic you are?"

I punched his arm with my good hand but it was a pathetic punch. "Shut up."

He laughed and pulled the blankets over me.

Before he could take up his usual spot on the floor, I grabbed his hand. "Sleep with me tonight."

"Katrina-"

"Please?"

"You heard what your mom said. No sleeping together."

"We're not going to be having sex. Just sleeping in the same bed. I hope she doesn't think I'd want to have sex in this condition."

He shrugged. "She's a parent, we're teenagers. It's bound to happen."

"Just get up here. She can yell at me all she wants."

"What if she kicks me out?"

"My mom wouldn't do that." I said softly, wrapping my arms around his neck. I buried my head in his chest.

He sat down on the bed and pulled me into his arms. "How's your knee feeling?"

I laughed and pulled the blankets over the two of us. "Better. I'm hoping I can start walking on it soon."

"I'm not. I like carrying you around everywhere."

"You're crazy." The second it was out of my mouth, I regretted it. He said nothing about it, acting like it was nothing.

He kissed my forehead. "Time for sleep."

"Okay, I'm just gonna stay right here." I mumbled, hiding my face in his chest.

He laughed and moved me onto the bed beside him. "That's better."

"Jerk." I mumbled, rolling onto my right side. Right after I did it, I groaned and rolled back onto my back. "Damn it."

Tommy got up and turned the light off then came back to the bed. He slid his arm under my shoulders and pulled me close. "Goodnight, Kat."

"Night."

"Kat, time to wake up." Tommy whispered, shaking me.

I groaned and rolled onto my side. I groaned even louder at the pain in my side. I didn't know how long ribs took to heal but it was too long already.

"It's Christmas morning, Kat." I could hear the humor in his voice.

"I'm tired."

"We can sleep later. Your mom wants us downstairs."

I pulled my pillow over my face and sighed.
