If I could choose one subject that I could study for the rest of my life other than Psychology, it would have to be Literature and writing. I love Literature and writing so much. Sometime, I'd like to think that I devote half of my life to it. Sometimes I even think that I'm obsessed with them. But hey, at least I'm obsessed and addicted to something vastly interesting and productive.
"Who do you think is the sadder Greek goddess, Achlys or Eleos?" Ms. Penny asked the class as she wrote their names on the board in front. We've been talking about the Greek Myths for a week now and I honestly love each and every discussion. I am fascinated with the Greek Mythology. I just think that it's a very broad, tragic, interesting, weird and comical subject.
"Achlys because she's basically the goddess of misery and sadness." One kid seated way in front answered, sounding so sure of his words."True. But Eleos is known for being deeply depressed. She grieves for no particular reason." Or professor stated as a-matter-of-factly. That seemed to get the entire class to think deeply.
"I think they're both equally unhappy but Achlys is far more unfortunate. She actually has every reason to be sad." A kid named Hannah answered, her voice as sweet as honey as she recited. I like Hannah. She seems so nice and pure at heart. There are numerous time when I tried to talk to her but I decided against it. I am just intimidated by her unique beauty and I think that's the reason why.
"Why is that?" Ms. Penny asked, seemingly interested with what Hannah has to say. Honestly, I am interested with her answer, too."Eleos is known in Athens and she has so much people looking up to her but since she's generally upset all the time, her followers found it hard to approach her. She's sad for an unknown reason even though she has so much to be glad about." She explained, her pretty eyes following the tone of her voice as she spoke. "Achlys on the other hand, is the personification of sadness and misery. She is miserable, her frame weak with her chattering teeth, swollen knees, long nails, bloody cheeks and dusty shoulders. Her aura alone screams sadness. She's always kept away under the thick sheet of darkness."
I am surprised and amazed at how much Hannah knows about the two goddesses. I love learning and knowing about the Greek Myth but honestly, I only know about the famous and big Gods and Goddesses like Aphrodite, Zeus and Poseidon. I thought I know so much about the topic but I guess I know very little of it.
"Very good point, Hannah." Ms. Penny praised, a proud smile now on her face. Hannah nodded slightly, smiling shyly to herself as she looked down on her arms resting on her desk."She's smart." Vic commented from beside me and I nodded eagerly at his statement, clearly agreeing.
"And so so passionate." I added on. "I want to talk to her so bad.""Then do it."
"What if she's just like Alex and Jack?
"Even you don't believe in what you just said." Vic stated as if it were obvious. Honestly, I think Hannah is one of the nicest people around campus. She naturally radiates this good aura and just by looking at her, people couldn't help but to either stare or take a second glance. To top it all off, she's also really good in art. I've been following her on Instagram for a while now and I can't believe how talented she is.
"I mean, yeah. Okay. Maybe after this lesson." I said but I sounded so unsure of my own words. As if the world was testing me that day, the bell rang. Ms. Penny nodded, silently telling us that we're free to go as she approached her stuff on the table, gathering them in one bunch and greeting the students that are passing in front of her desk.
"What are you waiting for?" Vic urged, giving me an encouraging smile. He, too, pushed himself off of his chair and grabbed his stuff, ready to head out of the lecture room.
