Chapter Seven

Miranda’s POV

My colleagues and I were about to leave nang may delivery boy na sumulpot. Takang-taka namin itong tinignan.

“I’m looking for Ms. Miranda Go,” sabi niya.

“Ako ‘yun,” I raised my hand as I heard my name being called.

“Package po galing kay Mr. Michael Linus Uy,” inabot naman niya ang nasabing package.

Bumaling naman sa akin ang kanilang atensyon.

“What?” I asked.

“Who gave you that?” at “Dali! Buksan mo na,” ang mga salitang narinig ko sa kanila. Tss. Girls!

“Excited much? Mukhang mas atat pa kayo kaysa sa binigyan nito ah?” I did open the package naman as what they told me to do. And to my surprise, bumungad sa aking mga mata ang isang cute na stuffed. I wasn’t such a fan of stuffed toys pero I really appreciated the thought. I mean, who wouldn’t? It came from the almighty Michael Linus Uy! Plus the fact that it wasn’t just an ordinary stuffed toy na galing sa Blue Magic. I can say that it was custom made. The stuffed toy was a dog that looked just like Linus’ dog, miniature nga lang.

I called Linus.

“Hey, liked it?” tanong niya agad sa akin.

“No,” I pause, “I love it!”

He chuckled, “Phew! Akala ko talaga you didn’t like it.”

“Thank you.”

“Nah, you don’t have to thank me.”

“No, sincerely, thank you,” I really appreciated the thought. Knowing na napaka-busy niyang tao pero nagawa niya pa rin akong surpresahin.

“Oh, well! It’s always my pleasure to please y-“ pinutol ko ‘yung sinasabi niya.

“Oh, my God! You watched?” I almost squealed.

“What are you talking about?” He paused for a moment as if he’s trying to remember something, “Oh! Yeah.”

"Oh, my God! I can’t believe it.” He freakin’ watched the movie that I told him, ‘yung movie na Up! Pa’no ko nalaman? Eh kasi ‘yung pangalan sa collar ng stuffed toy ay Russell.

“It’s not a big deal,” he said.

“Of course it is! I thought you were a bore.”

“Believe me, I’m not. I can be a lot of fun in other things,” he said in a husky voice. Shit! His remark gave me goose bumps. Clearly, he was talking about sex and he sounded so sexy, so inviting that I might give in.

“Tss. Anyways, I have to hang up. Gotta grab some lunch.”

“Oh, okay.”

“Wait! How did you know where my workplace is?”

“From your manager,” nakita ko namang nag-peace sign si Ashley sa’kin. Humanda kang babae ka!

“Oh, okay. Grab some lunch, too, okay? Bye,” paalam ko sa kanya.

“Yeah, I will. Bye!”

Then, we both hung up.

“Ayieee!” rinig ko namang tukso nila sa akin.

“Naks! Ikaw na may admirer,” sabi nung isa ko ring kasama sa ‘di kalayuan.

“Wait! Is the guy who gave you that and the guy from the bar the same?” tanong ni Natasha sa akin.
