Nico eventually caught up to Will on a small field behind the Big House. 'What are you doing?' He demanded.
Will collapsed down against the Big House's back wall and patted the grass beside him, inviting Nico to sit. 'I want to show you something.'
Nico rolled his eyes, but obliged. 'You're an idiot.' Will shrugged and pulled something out of his jacket.
Nico's eyebrows flew up so far they disappeared under his hair. 'You got one of Percy's books?!!'
'Shh! Yes, I did.'
Nico looked incredulous. 'Are you sure your dad is Apollo, not Hermes?'
'Whatever, death boy. We're gonna read it.'
Nico sighed. 'I thought I told you not to call me death boy.' But he didn't mind it so much, coming from Will.
Will slapped the book into his hand. It was shiny and red, with a picture of an undead warrior in the centre. The title read, "Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse".
Nico frowned. 'Will, this is the third book. Wouldn't you want to start at the beginning?'
Will smiled mischievously. 'Nah, I don't care about Percy's story. But I've been told that this book has you in it,' he explained.
Nico groaned and put his head in his hands as Will grabbed the book and opened it. 'Oh gods, please no.'
'Hmm, I don't think we'll read the whole thing. Just everything I can read about you.' He flicked through the pages.
'Ok, no. Just no. Please, spare me the shame.'
Will simply shrugged and began to peruse the book.
Under different circumstances, Nico might have enjoyed sitting and reading with his new friend and laughing at Percy. But for this, he couldn't stand the embarrassment.
'Will, please don't!' He tried to snatch the book but Will managed to evade his grasp.
'Fine. I can't stop you from reading it. But I don't have to be here when you do.' Nico turned to walk away.
Will looked up. 'Hey! I'm your doctor, you're under my supervision! You can't just leave!'
'Yes I can,' said Nico. 'But if it so pleases you, I'll go back to the infirmary.' He then hastened off before Will could say anything else.
