dan walked around london casually, looking at all the shops. it didn't bother him anymore that 'phil lester' was engraved on his left wrist, his dominant hand, since he was born. every time he wrote or did anything, he could see 'phil lester' on the side of his eye.

phil was laying around at home, making a cup of tea. it didn't bother him at all that 'dan howell' was engraved on his right wrist, his dominant hand, since he was born. every time he wrote or did anything, he could see 'dan howell' on the side of his eye, and it didn't bother him. in fact, it fascinated him that his soulmate's name was written on him.

for dan, it did not. he absolutely hated it. he was made fun of all throughout primary and secondary school until he reached university, where he soon dropped out. he was made fun of being 'gay' and having a boy's name on his wrist while being a boy as well.

phil didn't mind. he ignored the names being yelled at him throughout his life, even his family, except his brother martyn. martyn was the only person, that throughout phil's life, understood and didn't make fun of him. phil loved him for that. even though they were 2 years apart, they were still closely joined, phil being the younger of the pair.

dan, although he has a younger brother, he felt particularly close to his brother, although he really wasn't. he never really understood how close he wasn't really after he separated himself from the real world.

he didn't want anyone to know about his wrist thing, so he tried to cover it up with makeup and nail polish. it continued to prevail and show through, even through all the times he tried to cover it.

phil ever so wanted to meet dan his whole life. the mysterious 'dan' seemed like such a nice person to him. phil didn't know if dan lived in the states or in the uk; canada or in europe; he found it as an excuse to travel everywhere. he always went with his class to the different class trips around the world, hoping to find dan.

dan never went with any of his class trips. he always was 'sick' whenever those came around and had to skip them. he happily was 'sick' at home, knowing he didn't have to go to any of them. his brother frowned upon him, though, even though he loved dan. he wanted to know what those field trips were like, so he wouldn't embarrass himself during them.

phil loved dan.

dan didn't know how he felt.

but phil never knew.
