I was getting ready for the movies. I picked out some skinny jeans with some holes and a sweatshirt. It was 6:30 when I started pulling my hair into a bun. He told me earlier that we were going to see a humorous movie called 22 Jump Street.
I heard a knock at the door and went to get it.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Good day ma'am," he smiled back.
"You can come in," I gestured inside.
"Okie Dokie."
We walked inside for a minute so I could grab my jacket. We jumped in his truck and headed towards the theater. It was about four minutes until we got there and the car ride was completely silent. I couldn't think of anything to say.
We got there and he opened my door for me.
"What a gentleman," I said with a smirk.
"I just know how to treat the ladies," he winked.
"Flirt much?"
"Only with pretty girls like you."
"Okay, I think I need to talk to you. I just want to be friends. I just got out of a relationship and I'm seriously hurt. I'm sorry I'm just not looking for anything like that right now."
"Oh." He looked down at his shoes.
"Can we still be friends?"
"Definitely!" He smiled at me.
We walked into the theater and paid for our tickets and some popcorn. We sat in the back of the theater. It was a funny movie and we laughed a lot. It was good to laugh with someone instead of crying because of someone for once.
