The warm yellow-orange glow of the sun peeked into the room through the curtains and blinds, obscuring my vision as I opened my eyes. Swiftly, I went to hop in the shower of the motel, and changed my clothes. I did my makeup, lightly lining my eyes and brushed my hair, tying it back into a pony-tail.
I carried a large backpack with me at all times. It was filled with clothes, makeup, and toiletries that I had grabbed from my house before fleeing. There was also an iPod and laptop with a charger for both, along with ear buds.
Gathering everything in the back pack, I left a small tip on the bed and went to check out of the motel before getting a cab to take me to another city. I couldn't stay in one place for long. They'll find me. They, you may be asking? Don't bother trying to search for an answer, because you're not going to get one. For one thing, I don't know who is after me or my father, but I just know that they're bad people.
Even if I did know, I'd be extremely reluctant to tell anyone anything. I'd be too afraid for all of your lives. Getting involved with me would be risking your life. I don't want to be responsible for anyone's life, nor do I want to be the reason why someone has died. I've been dragged into this..this dangerous life.
All thanks to my father, but I don't put the blame on him. I don't know why people are out to kill him, but they are. Now they're trying to kill the ones that mean the most to him too. They've killed my mother and they've killed my sister. Now they're after me too. They've killed my best friend, most likely in hopes of making me depressed enough to drag me back to my father.
Then they'll kill me in front of his eyes, making him surrender for whatever reason. That's what they want, yes? No? His surrender? Or his life? Perhaps, both?
Those are simply my assumptions on what those killers will do. They may or may not be accurate, but all the same, I must continue to be on the run. I cannot linger in one place for too long. Unless I seek death, then I may reside in one place for a long period of time. Since death is not what I seek, I will continue to run.
I stared out of the window, peering up at the fluffy white clouds that floated above in the blue sky. I stared at the objects that passed by, wondering where it was that I'd be going. There wasn't a set destination for me. I just told the driver, "Get me as far as you can from this place, that's within your limit."
Hell, I didn't even know what city I was in before. I'm completely lost. Eventually, I fell asleep and was awakened a few hours later by the cab driver.
"Mind telling me what city I'm in?" I asked in a hushed voice.
He raised an eyebrow at my tone of voice, but nodded and went on to tell me anyways. "Hollywood, kid. You're in California."
I nodded. "Alright. Thank you." I handed him my cash and began to walk away, stopping to say, "Have a nice evening."
He raised a hand in thanks before climbing into the cab, driving away. I began to walk around the city, looking around, searching around for a cheap, but decent hotel. I kind of wanted a motel, but you weren't going to find one in Hollywood, I believe, unless you went to the far outskirts of the city.
In the end, I managed to find an affordable hotel. I actually had a lot of money with me. My dad always had a large fund hidden for me and I managed to find it. I worked little jobs every now and then as well. Walking out of the hotel, I went to the nearest beauty story to buy some hair dye.
In the end, I decided on buying purple hair dye. I returned to the hotel and immediately began to dye my hair. After an hour, I washed out the product from my hair, looking into the mirror, nodding with a smile as I saw how it turned out. It turned out pretty well.
Changing my clothes into something a little nicer, I walked out of the hotel once more and into the city, pulling a pair of sunglasses on my face. I needed some fresh air once in a while, it wasn't going to kill me. Yet.
Catching a cab, I directed it to take me to the mall so that I could go shopping for some new clothes and toss some out. I hated to waste clothes like that, but I couldn't keep wearing the same thing over and over. When I arrived at the mall, I went through all the stores, not finding anything to my taste.
I finally went to a Hot Topic, seeing as it was more my style. I picked out a pair of black and white skinny jeans. One pant leg was black, while the other was white. I got a black dress with skulls all over it and bought some more sticks of eyeliner. I purchased a few band t-shirts as well.
As I was at the counter, I heard the laughter of men behind me and I tensed up slightly, just in case. I was relieved when they walked past me, and I saw that they were just normal customers. Or, so I thought. When I took a closer look at them, examining their outfits, I realized who they were.
"Black Veil Brides," were the words that left my lips, in the sound of a faint whisper. "Oh my god. Black Veil Brides."
The cashier handed me my merchandise and the band turned around to leave again, catching my eyes. I was starstruck and was just staring, blinking slowly, trying to see if this was still real life. I put a hand to my head and my other hand on the counter to steady myself as I felt a bit faint, as if I'd collapse at any moment.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I shook my head and took a deep breath.
"Oh my god. Black Veil Brides," I repeated, still in a slight daze.
"We take it you're a big fan?" Andy asked.
I nodded. "Oh hell yes. A huge, huge, fan. I'm Rowan."
Andy smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Rowan."
Biting my lip a little in my state of nervousness, I said, "It's the 26th, isn't it, Andy? Well, Happy Birthday to you."
"Thanks Rowan!" Andy said with a grin. He pulled me in for a hug, squeezing me tightly. At that moment, I just wanted to scream my head off. This was like a dream come true. In fact, it was a dream come true.
I looked at the guys once more, puzzled. "Where's Jake?"
"Didn't you know? He's gone off to Europe to see his girlfriend. He said so on Twitter," said Ashley.
I nodded my head slowly. "Ah.. I see. Well, I haven't had internet access for ages. I'm kind of...on the run."
"On the run?" CC asked.
I shook my head. "I've already said too much... Well, it was really nice meeting you guys. We won't see each other again."
Hugging them all, I fled from the store. I hope I hadn't put their lives in danger. Whoever was after my father and I, they had spies everywhere.
