'Day 1...
'He is still sleeping.'
L stared at the college boy from the chair he was sitting in.
The only illumination was from the idle laptop battery on the foot of the bed, closed and glowing dully.
'It's only 12:41 PM...it's still early,' he thought, messing with his feet.
Light Yagami was sound asleep on the bed a couple feet away from L's chair, dozing peacefully. The long cuff chain dangled off of the bed and trailed back to L's wrist.
He sighed a little, staring off out the window. 'I've since forgotten the feeling of sleep, along with the desire for rest. I don't remember what 'tired' feels like,' he thought, chewing on his nails boredly.
'I do not want to sleep anyways. It wastes my time, and could slow me down..' He looked at Light curiously. '-by about, 30%.'
'I do not care for comfort. I only care for fruitful results. Comfort does not matter in my situation,' he soliloquied silently, staring at the sleeping college boy. His eyes dull and weak, burned warm trails of sight along the blanket and pillows. He messed with the chain a little, not flinching when it frictioned and made a slight clinking.
L stared at the chain, getting slow from having to wait everything out.
He looked back to the bed, blinking a little. 'I guess...it wouldn't hurt to rest just a bit.'
He quietly got up from his chair, holding the cuff and chain so it would not make such a big disturbance. He padded up to the empty side of the bed and laid back on it a bit, confused. He checked to see if Light was asleep before trying to lay down on his back. It felt strange and unfamiliar to him. He couldn't get himself to close his circled eyes and he let out a small sigh.
L looked over at the college boy, resting peacefully. He didn't seem like such a suspect for a cold-blooded muderer when he was asleep. His features, relaxed yet stiff, gave off somewhat of a shifted tranquility.
He messed with his hands a little before turning over slightly, attempting to get his eyelids to shut.
Light let out a little snore and L held back an amused snort. 'What a child,' he thought, forcing his eyes closed.
He laid and tried to get himself to sleep, but the coldness of the blankets and his own skin kept him from getting any. He turned on his side, looking to find Light asleep and facing towards him, his mouth agape. L sneered a little, poking the college boy's chin lightly. "You'll get a dry throat of you sleep with your mouth open, Raito-kun..." he said very quietly, tucking his arms back in.
L stared at the boy in vain, wanting to rest as well. There was nothing else to do anyways. He moved a little closer to Light, feeling the warmth and peace. He hesitantly pulled his arm out a little to touch Light's.
'This isn't...so bad,' he thought, hearing Light snore a little again before closing his eyes.
