" Ben!" I yelled out as I rushed towards the young boy that had been thrown onto the ground, the fires dying from his hands as he fell  unconscious from the blow to the head, I could see the blood slowly pooling around him and slightly panicked as I went towards him, ignoring the guards that were still around, staring at me. Getting to my knees I silently checked over him, he looked fine on the front, just a few bruises and cuts but as I lifted him up to take him back home I noticed the slash across his back, bleeding freely. Anger over took me as I stared at the wound before snapping my head towards the guards. "What happened here?" I questioned, barely hiding the anger in my voice.

"We were called towards the stables by the stable owner, stating that he was mindlessly messing with the horses, we told him to leave but he wouldn't until some child bumped into him by accident," one of the guards spoke, keeping his eyes on me as I started to stop the bleeding on Bens back, "The child had to be grabbed from him after he attacked the boy, we pulled him off before he started bleeding from the eyes, shocked we let go and he quickly ran..we persued, we cornered him here and he started to threaten the princess, we made necessary procedures when he attacked"

I listened intently, already knowing that Ben, sometimes Dark nowadays, had issues controlling their anger which lead them into getting into trouble. It was hard seeing the two struggling already with the change of trying to be good, but to be outcasted because of what they were created to do, given a sole purpose to destroy the good around them, that was a lot harder to see..I couldn't do anything to change peoples mind about them, but I did my best to ignore the whispering and pointing when I saw the town folk pointing at them, when they both came into the village for supplies.

"You drew a sword on a child? A child we all know has issues with controlling his anger" I stated, shoving my thoughts out of my mind as I focused on the point at hand.

"He attacked us" Another guard spoke, "used magic when he isn't supposed to"

"Then you take caution, not start cutting some child...he was angered, and we all do things in a time of worry...I understand his actions, but I don't understand how guards of the princess could hurt a boy younger themselves, you will report back to the castle, or to your spots around town..I'm taking Ben home" I replied calmly, picking Ben up, ignoring the disgusted looks being pointed at me as I stood there. They were looks I were already used to, showing kindness and care to Ben and Dark.

"You know Link, one of these days you'll see them for who they really are! Monsters created to destroy!" A older guard spoke towards me as I started walking out of the alley causing me to falter a bit.

"You know...I thought that too, but I realize, they are trying hard to be good and you all are just making it harder...who are the real monsters" I whispered quietly before walking away. Once again I ignored the looks being thrown at me for holding the 'Monster Child', I knew that Ben would heal in time, and the slash wasn't deep enough to be life threatening but it would scar over, it was the head wound that worried me. Frowning I kept my eyes ahead of me, remembering back to when I had first met Ben. He hadn't fought, just floated around a bit in the shadows, taunting me and laughing, back then I was nervous, scared even at the idea of something I couldn't see following me around the temple I was in, now though,, I could see that Ben wasn't the horrible monster I had once imagined, but a little boy...created by Ganondorf to hurt me, to make me break before I even reached Darks room.

A slight frown tugged on my lips as I kept thinking of our meeting. The first time I had actually seen Ben was in Darks room, he was there..sitting away in the shadows, just beyond my sight as I fought my counterpart. It was a bloody battle, difficult to land any hit on Dark, but when I managed to take him down, Ben came into the picture, anger and panic in his eyes as he quickly shielded his brother from my sword. I remember faltering at the sight of the young boy with blood red eyes, blood pooling down from his sockets, the whites of his eyes darkening to black in a threatening manner as Dark struggled to get him to leave the room, I had dropped my sword into the water and watched Ben quickly turn around and start making sure Dark was okay.

That was the day I knew that creatures like Ben and Dark could be good. I left them like that and continued on my way...I don't know what happened to make Dark help me but with how angry he was at Ganondorf I could only imagine.

Shaking my head to rid myself of the memory I noticed that I had finally arrived at Darks and Bens home, wincing a little at the slightly worn down house I entered it, almost feeling like I was trespassing in someones life as I looked around seeing the place to be brighter than I had imagined with everything that you would expect to be in a house that a family owned. Furniture littered the main room, the couch was a dark blue with black pillows and had a few blankets screwn across the back of it, bookshelves with worn out or damaged books filled a wall..I noticed that some of them held childish drawings in them. The place screamed family..and once again I saw another side to Ben and Dark.

Feeling out of place I quickly went to lay Ben on the couch, his stomach on the cushions so I could clean his back. Checking the wound I blinked seeing that the bleeding had stopped bleeding but that the slash was starting to scab over already. Tilting my head I ignored that fact and quickly went to find some things to clean it out with and wrap it up in. Rushing into the kitchen to find it almost spotless, I saw the box that had written in neat writing the words Bandages on it and quickly grabbed it, returning back to Bens side.

Opening the box I grabbed what I needed and quickly started cleaning Bens wound before wrapping them up. Ben stayed unconscious the entire time I was working on him. I frowned but simply let him sleep it off. Wondering where Dark was, and why he wasn't rushing towards his brother with angry words being thrown at me. I stood there by the couch for a few more minutes before walking towards the kitchen to start making something for Ben to eat when he awoke.

Hours went by and finally I heard the door open to the house and Darks voice yell out for Ben, it sounded tired but also in the tiredness held the slight note of worry. I smiled softly at that before walking out to see Dark looking around, clothes a little torn with small scrapes where I could only guess a few creatures had managed to attack, on his arms and legs. His eyes landed on me and I gave a small nod of my head towards the couch, already expecting the anger.
