Wh-What? I-I can't believe this he must be joking but he sounded serious. "Y-you must be joking" i said, "give me proof". He said nothing for a while but he said these "It is painful for a person to get broken bones, but it's more painful if a person gets a burnt skin". I-I don't believe it. It's really him, he's the one who left the book, the key and everything i discovered back then. it is him but if it is him why didn't he come back to us if he's alive. "Why didn't you come back?" I said. "It's complicated" he replied. Instead of being happy i became disappointed.
I tried to find an exit and i found one then i ran away, crying. I got my bag and ran out to the forest. It was raining. I tripped over a stone and wounded myself. I can't run anymore. I'd rather protect myself than see him again, I don't even know if i'll call him dad anymore. That fake death torn me apart but now he's just going to sit on this bloody island and tell me he couldn't come back, after those years?! Praying and hoping that he's still alive and he'll come back. He is alive, but didn't return. He explained why he wouldn't come back come back, he said "I can't come back cause i need to help him; the dragon, i just couldn't leave him. He's like a friend to me, he keeps me in company, so when i took over him i changed my name and got used to it. But before i did, he told me to take care of Yeagroff. I decided not to come back after that, I don't know what you'll think of me being a vicious creature. I'm sorry if i hadn't think of you, but think of this; if you knew someone who is kind and helps you in many ways, would you just leave them alone if they need you back?" He stopped but he is right for some reason.
"I wanna go back" i said " I wanna see if my mother is still alive". "I respect your decision" he said "Go back to Senterfold, go back to Adlean". I took out the gem and went far in the ocean. As I sink down I held up the gem and it quickly help me get back. I am back at the shores of Senterfold. I walked towards the village. It was quiet, peaceful. no crowded people, no market vendors, nothing. i went down at the hall and saw all the people gathered. A lot of people are sleeping and eating in here, i wonder why they wouldn't go in their homes. "excuse me sir but what's all the fuzz about" i wonder. "the people's demanding for a search to find their families after the report that there was a crash on the ship, but there was no use. only one sign of life spotted, others are dead and cold, the crowd stayed here. They won't leave until we find something." the guard said. "well i'm one of them, i'm one of the passengers and i survived" i said. "oh you are? well then come, come we should get you a nice warm shelter." the guards gave me a nice place to rest. "by the way who was that one person who survived you were talking about?" curiosity got me. "according to her files her name is Adlean Lodwick from...." i cut him there. "mom's here? Where is she?" then a whipping sound caught my attention.
A woman in black coat, long dress with black muddy face and bloody hands is being pulled by guards off to the square and about to be hanged. I recognized her face until i realized it was mother! I ran as fast as i could to stop this but the guards forced me to stay back. a man said "For this woman to be hanged by stealing gold coins from our pockets may have her last words". He stopped, mother said "It wasn't me, but to fulfill your orders to end my life, if ever Julie is alive don't hurt her". As the floor was about to be opened, a black figure caught my mother, cut the rope and dropped her slowly in a corner.
He scared the socks off the guards and fought back. "Dad! Don't hurt them you don"t have to get revenge!" He was about to spit the hottest, flames of death to end every last breath of every last men there is, I got in the way and he stopped. "You don't have to fight. You don't have to be the bad guy" I started crying. He didn't know what to say but i just hugged him tight. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry Dad I made our relationship worst. I should think more of others more than myself" Tears shed down to my cheeks and fell down on my knees.
"She is one of the servants of this legendary menace, kill her" a guard whispered to an arrow shooter. He pulled out the mightiest crossbow he has with a very sharp arrow dropped with little bits of poison at the end. I gasped and turned around as the arrow targeted to my chest launched........................but it didn't flew through my chest but instead.....................it flew to my dad's throat. He saved me but he still is bleeding a lot. His blood was running through my palm and mom went near. He said these "Julie find the chest". "But i don't know where it is Dad" I said as tears were bursting through my eyes. Mom looked confused. "Adlean take care of Julie when i'm gone, yes it's me Elfred and Julie take care too. Find the chest bring it to Yeagroff a king will arise again to rule the island. I think your too tired now you should rest, follow the river and find your way, i'll always be with you. Always" and his very last breath made me widen my eyes to see the death of my Father. The General arrested the guard and the arrow shooter for an unauthorized command of combat. I realized something before he died, he gave me a clue "follow the river and find your way" I need to find the chest. Once again i used the gem to get back to the island. I started at the cave and followed the river until the end. It was a long walk but i finally found my destination i saw nothing. I dug down and down until i touched something hard and pulled it out. It's the chest! I ran back to Yeagroff and gave the chest to him. I unlocked it with the key. One flew out and i knew, it was the one from his father. It touched Yeagroff's forehead and made him more king-like. He's the new ruler of the island. All the animals from the sky, the land and the water, even the fairies all bow down to him. It would've been nice if Dad could see this now. I'll leave this island to him and taught him little things i know about being a leader and maybe follow my dad's request and rested at the cave.
Years later
My name is Julie Lodwick and i am now 13 years old and i am writing a journal about my adventures when i was just 9 and share it to others. I still visit the island sometimes and Yeagroff grew up to be a wonderful leader. There are still slight ingridmon problems but he can handle it. I finally understand about what dad meant when he said "It is painful for a person to get broken bones, but it's more painful if a person gets a burnt skin" Broken bones can heal enough and forget all about it when time passes but having burnt skin will leave a mark and you'll remember the painful memories you've been through. There are still more adventures to come but i'll stop here. Until my next adventures
