"We need to start putting out flyers around town to see if any more people are in need of a home. I know there's more people who are LGBT who have been kicked out of their homes. I mean, we live in New York, there has to be more people," says Xander, bringing in some printer paper from the office.
He seems to be getting more comfortable around me. He's usually incredibly shy. I smile at the thought.
Alex and Riku both nod. Alex grabs a few papers from Xander's hands and distributes them evenly between me, Riku, Rose, Xander and himself.
"Right. So what are we going to put on these?" Rose asks, hands clasped.
"Well, we're going put the address, and say 'Looking for LGBT people who have been kicked out of their homes, go to this address,'" says Alex, gesturing towards the paper.
"Sounds good," says Riku.
Rose then stands up and goes into the next room, and comes back with her hands full of markers and pens of various colors. She spills them on the table and we all grab one and begin writing.
After an hour or so, we each made about 25, which equals to 125 papers to hang up around New York City.
"Are we all going to go out, or just a few people?" I ask.
"Er– whoever wants to go out I guess," says Riku, her brown curls falling into her eyes.
"I do," says Alex, Rose, and me in unison. We all laugh at that.
"Well, I'm going back to my paintings, have fun. We'll have dinner ready when you get back," Riku says, standing up and smiling at us. She then exits the door quietly. I'm sure none of us would've noticed if she hadn't said something she was so quiet.
"Xander?" Alex asks.
"I, um, have to go finish a book I've been reading. Good luck on the flyers."
He then exits the room as well. The remaining three of us look at each other.
"Ready?" says Rose, pulling on her jacket as we speak.
"Yup." Alex and I say.

We've been out for about an hour now, hanging up posters wherever we can. On telephone poles, in Starbucks', in front of large buildings. We really do hope that at least a few people see the signs and come stay with us.
"It's getting really cold, do you guys wanna grab a coffee?" asks Rose, pulling her coat tighter against her.
"Yeah, definitely," I say, and Alex nods.
We find a nearby Starbucks, and sigh at the amazing feeling of warmth that engulfs us as we enter. Alex finds three seats and tell us he wants a caramel mocha. We go and stand in line, which is a lot shorter than I would've expected.
Once we get to the front, Rose orders an iced green tea, and orders Alex's mocha, and I order a coffee with cream.
The cashier looks at me and says, "That'll be $7.28, miss."
I cringe internally that he called me miss, but I let it go and give him the money. We grab our drinks and head back to where Alex is sitting, where he's casually scrolling through tumblr, as he always does. He always seems to be on jacksepticeye or markiplier's tumblr page for some reason. He must really like them.
"Earth to Alex?" I say, and he doesn't look up. I laugh but sit down anyways. I set his coffee on the table in from of us.It's pretty cold outside, and warm in here, so the windows of the coffee shop are fogging up quickly.
"Do you think people will actually come to stay with us? I mean, only 9% of the adult population is part of the LGBT community," says Rose, gripping her tea tightly.
Alex finally puts his phone down and looks up at us with hope in his eyes. "People will come. There are more LGBT people here than you think. Plus, there are a lot of teenagers who must need a home."
Rose and I both nod, but are unsure.
We spend a good thirty minutes in Starbucks talking about all sorts of random stuff until we agree to head home.

Once we get through the door of my new home, a smell of pizza surrounds us. We all smile in delight and see Xander at the far end of the hallway holding two boxes of pizza.
Alex runs forward and grabs the boxes out of Xander's hands and quickly goes into the kitchen chanting, "Pizza pizza pizza pizza." under his breath.
Rose and I laugh and then follow him into the kitchen, Xander coming behind us. Riku is already at the table, with plates and napkins all ready.
We settle down, now a slice of pizza on everyone's plates, when we hear a knock at our front door.
