Exactly 7 days, 3 hours, and 7 minutes have past since the battle with the whales.  Phil is no longer hiding his disturbed mental state. I knew he was mentally ill, but he had always been able to hide it and live like a normal person. But since the battle, murders have been happening  all around Townville, and I know Phil is the cause. I've been trying  to formulate a plan to fix this situation, but I am getting nowhere. After spending another morning pacing around my house, I  finally break down and decide to seek some help.

At 7:37 am, I rush over to Lauren's house. I knock on her door frantically until she opens it.

"Mary, why are you here this early in the morning?" she asks, sounding annoyed.

"Consistency,"  I quickly reply. "But that's not the issue here. I need your help to  take down a potentially psychopathic killer," I plead.

"Again? Alright, come in." Lauren sighs, opening the door for me. "Now explain," she demands, making herself some tea.

I grab myself a spot on her couch, "It's Phil. He has become mentally unstable."

"He was mentally stable before?" Lauren questions, slowly mixing her drink.

"Well okay, no. He was never mentally stable, but he's now not hiding it. I believe all those recent murders on the news were caused by Phil," I explain.

"What makes you think that?" Lauren asks, joining me on the couch.

"I just know. Trust me," I answer.

Lauren sips her tea, "That's pretty hard to do."

"Oh  shut up. Hear me out, I've seen him a couple times over the last couple  days, and he seems, I don't know, pretty open about talking about the  murders. And he seems to talk about them with pride, not sympathy or  curiosity like most people who are uninvolved," I tell her.

"Well you do know Phil the best, so I'll trust you."

"So you'll help?"

"Of  course. I've helped you combat shark-lemur hybrids, living door knobs,  and that one guy who could control albino bunnies. Might as well add  sentient potted plant with homicidal tendencies to that list."

"Thank you!" I sigh in relief.

Lauren  finishes her tea and says, "But if we are going to take out Phil, we  will need help." She walks into the kitchen, sets down her mug, and  grabs the phone. She makes two quick phone calls.

"They are on their way," she states.

"Who?" I ask.

"Team Hextic," is all she says.

About  10 minutes later, a knock comes from her door. We both go over and  Lauren answers it. On the other side, Sam and Caley stand there.

"Thank  you for coming on such a short notice. We have an emergency. A serial  killer who is known to possess supernatural powers is loose, and we need  to stop him," Lauren starts.

"We know who this killer is?" Sam asks.

"Phil. Phil Succulent," I answer.

"Phil? I mean he's always been a little unstable, but he never seemed like a serial killer to me," Caley says incredulously.

"I believe it was the whales. I think they did something with his brain. He's always had murderous tendencies, but he's always been able to suppress them. I think the whales made it so that he couldn't suppress them anymore," I respond.

"Those whales ruined everything," Sam murmurs under her breath.

"If that is true, we will need all of our special skills," Lauren responds.
