(Narrator's POV)
Bill and Kisha were best friends since they were grade 4. But sadly, Kisha has to go away. Away meaning out of the country. She's going to Canada, the place where her crush lives. She explained everything to him. Bill thought it might be the end, so he drove her to the airport and bid goodbye. The plane left and he was left alone. First time being without her, Bill had a strange feeling in his heart that he can't explain.
Days and weeks passed and Bill still can't move on. Move on, being away from her. He can communicate to her though, but why can't he text her?
Maybe she's busy with her new life.
He always thinks to himself. She might think he's annoying her if he text first, so he waits. He got tired of waiting; he gets up from the couch and gets some food. While looking for some in the fridge, his phone buzzed and started to play the ringtone. Bill's face lit up; almost dropping the can of soda he's holding. He got so excited that he almost tripped running to it.
A message from a random number.
He got sad, his heart almost dropping from his chest. Pressing the view button, he saw the message that he never expected.
" Hey Bill. I don't think you remember me, but anyways... Sorry for not talking to you. I lost my phone, so I have to buy a new one. Which is, only today. You're the only contact in my list though, except for my parents. Good thing I memorized your number. I need to talk to you. He broke my heart. We are already together, but I saw him with another girl. And I broke it off. Anyways, I'm going home. Home meaning I can see you again. I hope you're as excited like I am. I miss you.
- Kisha <3 xoxo "
Bill smiled as he read the text. He immediately replies back, typing every word his heart says. Thumping loudly than it should be.
" Hi Kish. Yes, I still remember you. I think of you every day, when you're coming back. Anyways, you know what? He's a jerk. Let's just talk about this when you get home here, okay? I have to tell you something too. Not a long message doe. Haha, I miss you too. =) - x Bill "
Pressing send quickly, Bill heard a knock on the door. He opened it and saw nothing. What was that? Closing the door, he felt someone stopped it. He felt scared, but he has to face it.
"Bill?" He heard someone's voice. "What are you doing? You look scared."
He noticed who it was and it made him calm and a little bit angry. "What the hell, Mitch? I thought it was the grim keeper."
"Sorry. The paper flew in my hands and I have to chase it." Mitch said panting.
"What paper?" Bill asked, confused. Mitchell likes surprises, always making people confused.
"Congrats." Handing him the paper, he saw his name in it. It was the test results from Harvard University, he passed'
"Oh my gawd... this is- this is amazing! How did you get it?!" He asked, still shocked and surprised.
"I found it in your mailbox earlier."
"Kish would be proud if she hears about this."
"Kisha? I thought she's at Canada? Is she finally coming home?" Mitch asked excited.
"Yes...and I can't wait to see her again."
