Those Fireworks
Chapter 09
(Bill’s POV)
This might be one of the best parties I’ve ever had. This is the first time Kisha was here at my party in 9 years, I think. This is the first time we’re all here. This is it.
The party was doing fine. Visitors started to mob our house, relatives, friends, neighbors. Mom didn’t really care how much she invites; the food was like infinity resources. Anyway, I sat back down at the couch in the living room waiting for the others to come. The first one down was my little sister who was wearing this white, Goddess-like dress.
“It looks awesome on you.” I complimented.
“Thanks.” She smiled at me. “I’ll go check on mom. Kisha’s ready too. Mitch will be down in 30.” She said going out to see our mom.
As she closed the transparent doors to our garden, I heard heels click on the dark, wooden stairs we have. I turned around to see her, Kisha, in an orange dress. It fits her perfectly. All the emotions made me remember the bet. I can’t believe I’ll just hurt her in the end. (IT RHYMES!)
Shaking off the thought, I got up and accompanied her down. She thanked me and smiled.
“You look amazing today.” I complimented, smiling.
“Thanks.” She smiled back at me.
“After you milady.” I joked using my fake British accent. She laughed and accepted my gesture.
"You're always bad at accents, Bill." She smirked.
"Hah, oh yeah?" She hummed in reply.
"Pfft." I said in defeat. Making her win makes me feel I won her heart.
Oh here you go again, Bill. All cheesy and stuff.
"Let's just go." I said and opened the door and surprised by mom and a clap from the audience.“Speaking of the birthday, here he comes with his ... girlfriend?” Mom said as I blush a little. The crowd went wild as I can hear whistles and loud claps. I looked over at Kisha and she was just chuckling. She noticed me and we lock gazes, smiling like we’re just alone.
“KISS! KISS! KISS!” The crowd went wilder. I had to agree, this was one of my most awkward moments in my life.
“Sorry but we’re not yet official.” I said, and the crowd went silent.
“Awh.” “Why?” “You’re perfect for each other!”
Those are the things they said.
“As he said, they’re not yet together.” Mom said laughing. “So chill and just enjoy the rest of your night.” She turned the microphone off and walked to us.
