Chapter 2:
"Kisha? Well then, guess my work is done here. You can figure out how to talk to her by yourself." He starts to walk away like a boss. Idiot Mitch left me there. Standing in complete shock.
It can't be Kisha. Why the hell wouldn't she tell me if it is her? She walked away with style. Making me snap out of my thoughts.
~~~~~
I still can't believe it might be Kish. Many questions in my head, only one remain…
Why didn't she tell me?
"Cheng." Our teacher, Mrs. Pahlo, called.
"Yes ma'am?" I stood up.
"What is your answer to my question? Seems like you're thinking deep, kid."
"Uhm, please repeat the question ma'am. I didn't hear it well." I asked shyly, some students laughing quietly.
"I thought so. What is the main character's problem in the story, A Midnight's Summer Dream?" Shoot. I haven't read it yet. I did, but not understanding properly.
"Sorry, but I didn't understand the story well." The whole class laughed, receiving a glare from Mrs. Pahlo.
"Silence." She started. "Ms. Velasco."
What? Did I hear her well? Velasco? Kisha? I looked around the classroom, nobody stood up.
"Yes ma'am?"
But there's this voice who I ought to be her.
Could it be?
The sound came from my backside. I turned around…
There she was,
Pure and golden,
A dream in my eyes,
My words unspoken,
I beg her to stay,
She does- in a moment,
Yet she hides her wings,
Sacred they are broken,
She flutters in fear,
She know not-
Her heart is my token
What the hell, Bill? Snap out of it! You are not gonna be in love with that girl. Remember the bet? She should not know about it.
But, I saw her earlier, I think. "Ms. Velasco, would you like to help Mr. Cheng with his book? You're the smartest book person in class anyway. Would you?"
(Kisha's POV)
Fck.
I cursed under my breath. Why me?! I could've just stayed hidden, he wouldn't notice it anyway. "Would you?" Mrs. Pahlo asked. I seem there would be no reason not to.
"Okay..." I said, completely shy.
(Bill's POV)
"Okay..." She said, shyly.
Why would she hide it? Couldn't she just tell me? What? Is it a surprise? Well I'm not really happy about it.
"You two may now sit down." We both sat down in rhythm.
Our teacher began to teach us, Mitch started kicking my seat in the back. "What?" I asked irritately, turning my head to the side, looking at Mrs. Pahlo incase she sees us.
"Nevermind. I'll tell you later." He winks.
~~~~~
The bell rings and I quickly catch up to my friends. "Hey. What's up?" I said.
"I need to talk to you, privately." Mitch whispered, but the others heard it.
"Ugh, will you two get a room already?" Tom snorts.
"Fine, we'll leave you both in here." Chris starts. "C’mon Tom." He drags Tom away from us.
"Great plan you have back there. Now you can talk to Kisha and get to know each other." Mitch said. Wait, what plan? I'm completely confused.
"What plan?"
"You know, faking that you don't understand the story, knowing that teacher will pick Kisha to tutor you. That is nice." He playfully knocks my arm with his elbow.
"I didn't plan that. I really didn't understand the book. Wait, you know that that's Kisha Velasco?! My childhood friend?!" I ask, shocked.
"What?! That was Kisha?! The one you used to talk about?! The pawn to our bet?! What the heck?! I didn't know! I just knew her first name." THE PAWN?! SERIOUSLY?! THE FCK, HOW WILL I TELL HER NOW?!
I saw a bench and sat down there. "What will I do now?" I put my hands in my face.
"Why don't you just quit the bet?"
"No. A bet's a bet."
"How will you tell Kisha?"
"I don't know."
(Kisha's POV)
I saw Bill and Mitch roam around the park in our school, they were fooling around, like what usual boys do. They sat on a bench, Bill put his hands on his face. Seems like he has a problem, let’s hear it then.
“What if Kisha finds out?” Okay enough, I can’t take it anymore. There’s nothing else I could do than turn around and run away from them. Tears start to flow in my eyes as I was running to the library.
So it's all just for a bet?
He didn't really miss me.
Just for a bet. For a bet.
No, Kisha.
Don't give up.
You'll get over this.
I have a plan.
