"Oh, dear God, it's only two o'clock. It's been Christmas Day for at least a week now. How can it only be two o'clock? I'm in agony."Mycroft whined.

Yes, it was that most wonderful time of the year again and Sherlock invited you, John and Mary over. You and Mary showed up but you weren't for sure if John would, since he and Mary haven't really talked in months after coining out who she really was. While the Watson's relationship might be failing, yours and Sherlock's couldn't have been any stronger.

After he was finally released from the hospital, the two of you started to plan out a very small wedding since the both of you agreed you two didn't want to go all out like the Watsons did and also between you and Sherlock you two didn't have a whole lot of family and friends to invite.

You knew Sherlock's parents would come, your aunt said she would be delighted, Lestrade was happy to come but you and Sherlock weren't for sure about John and Mary. Sure you wanted to invite them but you told Sherlock if they haven't settled their problem by the time of your wedding, it could get awkward.

You and Sherlock decided on having the wedding in February and pretty much had everything planned out except for the whole problem with the Watson's. You hope that they could settle it soon because you wanted both of them their by yours and Sherlock's side.

"Mikey, is this your laptop?" Sherlock's mother asked Mycroft, pointing at the silver gray laptop at the end of the table half obscured by a chopping board which had peeled potatoes and the peelings on it.

You were sitting in one of the dinner chairs next to the armchair Sherlock was sitting in near the table. He was reading the front page of The Guardian which bears the headline Lord Smallwood suicide and the strapline Shamed peer takes own life and 63-year-old dies following letters scandal.

"On which depends the security of the free world, yes and you've got potatoes on it." Mycroft sneered at his mother and you and Sherlock glance towards them. "Well, you shouldn't leave it around if it's so important." Mrs Holmes said to him as she picks up the basket of crackers but then decided to set it back down again.

"Why are we doing this? We never do this." Mycroft asked as he gestures around the kitchen.

"We are here because Sherlock is home from hospital and he is getting married soon and we are all very happy." Mrs Holmes said, looking a little exasperated to her older son.

"Am I happy? I haven't checked." Mycroft said to her in a sarcastic tone.

"Behave, Mike." said Mrs Holmes as she picks up the basket. You give a small smile and chuckle as Mycroft said to his mother. "Mycroft is the name you gave me, if you could possibly struggle all the way to the end."

Then the man that John beat up on, which Sherlock told you his name was Billy, walks over and hold out a glass of punch to Mrs Holmes. "Mrs Holmes?" Billy said as she looks around and takes the glass. "Oh! Thank you, dear. Not absolutely sure why you're here." She said to him as she takes a drink of the punch.

"I invited him." Sherlock said.

"I'm his protégé, Mrs 'olmes. When 'e dies, I get all his stuff, an' 'is job." Billy gloated and you shake your head.

"No, that would be my soon to be wife who gets that." Sherlock said, precisely.

"What about if she dies?" Billy asked.

"Still no." Sherlock said.

"Oh. Well, I help out a bit." Billy said.

"Closer." You said.

"If they do get murdered or something...." Billy said and Mrs Holmes and Mycroft look up at him appalled.

"Probably stop talking now." Sherlock said.
