  Lucifer

Ah, the Morning Star. One of the most brilliant celestial bodies in the sky, during the day and night. A brilliant angel as well, as all of Heaven gave praise to their prince seraph. Lucifer, bred and groomed for a life revolving entirely around his social status, had never really thought much about what this life was to him. But he would come to think of it as this:
What a load of bullshit that was.
That was no way to live, not in any way shape or form. But it seemed like he was getting a bit ahead of himself in his retelling of his life within Heaven, before he'd become the Adversary and came to leadership in Hell. Thank the Reviser that he'd actually survived to even be able to think of being able to lead the demons. Or, whatever could be taken for leadership, seeing as it was strictly forbidden for there to be an actual Devil; or vice versa, in there being a God.
But he was getting ahead of himself in his retelling. After all, he didn't want to bore the audience he had, and now onto what he wanted to tell.
Lucifer had always been used to being around others -seeing as he was the star of Heaven- and yet, he loved his solitary moments; as they were few and far between for him. But if there was one thing he loved more than his quiet moments, it was his best friend Lumiel. Though he was more assistant than a friend, in some ways; but Lucifer loved him all the same as one of his closest friends and confidants.
Which is whom the seraph was currently seeking out, as he wanted a second opinion on what he was currently trying to figure out. It had been bothering him for a while now, and yet, he couldn't solve the problem. Nor, for some reason, could he actually keep the problem in his head for very long; he had no idea why, but he knew that Lumiel would be able to help him with it. Speaking of Lumiel...
Lucifer's silvery eyes sought out the form of his best friend as a grin spread across his lips and he bounded up to the smaller male, one hand coming up to ruffle the brunette's hair with a soft laugh. The other seraph was often very jumpy, and it always amused Lucifer whenever he'd jump any time he'd touch him without warning. But this time around, he sobered up quickly, as he wanted to talk to Lumiel about what was bugging him. If he could keep it in mind to let him speak it.
"Hey, Lumiel. Sorry to bother you, but I need to ask you about something, brother." The seraph sighed lightly as he met Lumiel's lavender irises, his own silver lidded half-way to make it seem like he was tired. Which it did the trick, as the jumpy and flighty Lumiel sighed in return and set down the book he was holding to turn to the taller seraph to reply to him.
"What is it, dear Lucifer? As it has to be something serious if you're coming to me when your emotions are so turbulent."
The prince seraph hesitated for a few seconds while one hand came up to rub at his cheek a bit, unsure of how to answer Lumiel's question; as he didn't even know the answer himself as to what was bothering him. But he just shook his head and allowed a small smile to grace his lips as he slung an arm around Lumiel's shoulder while he replied the best he could.
"I don't know exactly what it is... But it seems like I've been having thoughts that aren't exactly... mine." Lucifer noted the look of confusion on Lumiel's face and let out a soft exhale, as he was just as confused as him. But he continued to talk softly about what had been bothering him.
"It's not in the same inner voice that I normally have either, which is even more confusing, as this voice seems to be butting in with my normal thoughts. Almost like it's fighting my normal personality for dominance. It's strange, yet is there anything you know that could be going on?"
Lumiel took on a thoughtful expression as he pondered over Lucifer's predicament, unsure of just how to answer the younger angel. There wasn't much knowledge of the intricacies of the mind, and yet, the angels still tried to comprehend mental disorders in the best way they knew how. And that was by assuming that a previous life had begun butting in on the current to try to take over control of the body. But this didn't seem to be the case at all, as this was Lucifer's first life cycle and he didn't have any past lives to interfere with his current one. So Lumiel's confusion was something to be expected. Especially with a topic like this.
The seraph ran a hand through his auburn locks as he thought about the situation Lucifer had on his hands, rather unsure of what to say. But he smiled reassuringly as he slipped out of his friend's hold to face him better, replying as he did so.
"I don't know what it could possibly be, dear friend. Do you have any other symptoms that could be playing into it, like spending too much time around Bath Kol and her prophecies?"
"No, I haven't been visiting her very much. You know how I am with her prophecies and all that so called 'sight into the future' nonsense. Besides, I don't think that would cause a different voice in my head that's trying to butt in with things."
A soft snort escaped Lumiel as one arched brow rose, quite aware of how his dear friend was over prophecies and the mystic side of Heaven; seeing as he believed that those topics were nothing but hallucinations caused by hallucinogenics, or that they were the whimsical fantasies of those with overactive imaginations. Hell, he didn't even deign to travel near where Bath Kol had holed up in the deepest, mot water-filled den in Heaven. But he was straying a bit from the topic at hand.
The secretary tapped his chin in thought as he considered the possibilities of what could be happening to his dear friend. An idea came to him in a stroke of genius; who knows more about split personalities than Gabriel? It seemed Lucifer had picked up on the idea swimming behind Lumiel's face with the expression, as one of pure dismay came over his own features.
"We're not...?"
"Oh, yes, Lucifer. We're going to Bath Kol's den for a visit to one of her colleagues: Gabriel."
