Awwwww yeah. Sorry, weird kid, but I'll be taking over now. I'll think about weird multidimensional theory junk later. I'm finally in control.
Wait, shoot. How do I change back? I'll decide exactly how uncomfortable this is later, if I don't get my powers back, I'm 110% burnt toast.
A warm light suddenly envelops me, numbing my every sense, and as it disappears, I'm back to my normal self. I'll check the specifics later, I have my sword at my side and this thing is two seconds away from steamrolling me. Time to beat up some ruby elephants. Or, just one. Not sure if its giant elephant buddies could hide so easily.
I Blink out of the way, shouting "Sorry I'm late, guys!" off in everyone's general direction. I draw my blade from its sheath with a satisfying shing and Blink back, striking the elephant in it's side, watching the results of an enchanted attack branch through it. A chunk of the crystal shatters, crumbling to smaller and smaller particles, vaporizing before they ever touch the ground. Hmm... If this is no different from most crystalline monsters, maybe I can ice wedge it.
The elephant stomps around, now going for the others, trying to escape me. It can't do either. It's fate has already been sealed.
I envision the ice crystals embedded in the elephant after my attack in my mind, focusing with all my might.
Thaw. Freeze. Thaw. Freeze. Thaw. Freeze.
The inside of it erodes away, crumbling to monster dust and glinting in the sunlight. Time to finish it.
I launch myself through the air at it with another spell, and strike it one last time.
What remained of it shatters into a million pieces, turning to dust and disappearing like the rest of it. I land and turn to my friends, all exhausted from the battle. "...And that is how you do it. Hah! Didja miss me?"
Before they can reply, the warm, numbing light dulls my senses again. No, no, no, no no no, not now! I just resurfaced a minute ago!
My efforts to keep myself standing are all in vain as I feel my body collapse to the ground. Everything around me fades to black as my consciousness sinks into abyss again.-end of chapter one-
