•Alexis's POV•

Today is Friday. They day of the Lowell Pink Arrow game.

The biggest game of the year. Everyone wears their pink arrow shirt for the year. Every year we have a new pink shirt that is a different shade of pink from the year before and it has the Roman numerals for what number pink game it is. Today is year 9. The whole goal of the pink arrow game is to raise money for people in our area that have cancer. It's kind of a big deal.

If your wondering, my name is Alexis Winglar.

I'm a Freshman at the Lowell High School. I'm in the marching band with my best friend Maddie.

We have been in the band since 6th grade.

I walked out of my 5th hour class which is algebra.

I met up with Maddie at the end of the hallway just like always.

We walked down the hallway together talking about how obnoxiously boring our classes were.

She has animal science for her 5th hour.

"Are you excited for tonight's ga-"
I started to ask but stopped mid-sentence when I caught a glimpse of the couple that was sucking each other's faces off.

"Lexi?"
Maddie asked.

"Lexi?"
She said again snapping her fingers I front of my face.

I quickly snapped out of my gaze.

"Get a room you nasty freaks!"
Maddie shouted.

"Go to hell!"
The guy shouted.

"How rude!"
I said in a normal voice.

Maddie and I both laughed and kept walking.

We got to our lockers and grabbed our uniforms.

We brought them to our band lockers  and then walked into the band room.

"Let's eat and then put out clarinets together."
Maddie said.

I nodded my my head and we grabbed our food.

Today the band teacher had pizza for us.

Every Friday that we play we can eat dinner here. Maddie and I usually do that.

We ate our pizza and took care of our plates.

Today we don't have to wear the full uniform.

Just our pants and black shoes.

We only have to wear our pink shirts which is like, a God sent.

We grabbed our pants and pulled them over our jeans and then slipped on our shoes.

We grabbed our clarinets and put them together.

"Ready?"
Maddie asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be."
I replied.

We walked outside to where we all line up at.

At the high school there is a big hill and we all walk down it to the field.

On the way down the drum line will play the cadence.

Mr. Haan, the marching band teacher came out with the rest of the band.

"Band attend hut!"
He shouted.

This means to stand still and listen.

We all got ready and in our lines to march down the hill.

We played a few scaled to warm up and then we all stood at attention.

Attention is when you stand up straight with the mouth piece of your instruments mouth piece eye level.

"Mark time mark!"
Mr. Haan said loud enough for all of us to hear.

We all started walking in place just by lifting our heels.

The drum line started playing the cadence and we started marching down the hill.

I don't know about anyone else but I get so much adrenaline when I march for the games.

I just love it so much.

We got down the hill and got in our places on the field.

We played go red arrows and then the National Anthem.

After we finished pre-game the game started.

We all sat in the bleachers and watched the first two quarters.

We play stand cheers every time our team did something good and red arrows every time we got a touchdown.

After the second quarter we left the stands and got ready for halftime.

We played three songs and marched on the field as we played it.

After halftime we played red arrows as we got into our lines to March back up the hill as the drum line played the cadence again.

We got to the top of the hill and Mr. Haan told us how good we did and we were dismissed.

I met back up with Maddie and we walked to our band lockers and took off our uniform pants.

We changed into our actual shoes and walked back down to the game to walk around and talk with our friends.

God I love Fridays.
