~Maddie's POV~

In the band, there is this guy, named Mason. He keeps staring at Lexi and it's really weird.

Should I tell him to back off?

No. That's mean.

He seems really nice.

He is like, basically Lexi's twin.

I've noticed how alike they are in the past few weeks of being in high school.

I'm gonna go introduce myself.

Maybe he can be friends with Lexi.

Nah.

I'm not gonna do that. I don't want her to like him more than me.

"Hey b."
Lexi said as she walked up to me.

She calls me that a lot.

It started by accident.

She would accidentally put a b at the end of the text messages she sent me and it just kinda stuck.

"Hey wha- where's your glasses?"
I asked.

She never takes them off. She has really bad eyesight.

"I decided I don't like them."
She shrugged.

"What? Lexi no. You love your glasses. How are you able to see? Your like, basically blind!"
I told her.

"Well, you see that kid over there?"
She asked pointing to some one.

"With the trombone?"
I asked.

"No. The alto sax player. With the curly hair and glasses."
She replied pointing to him.

"Mason? Yha I see him. Why?"
I asked confused.

"Well, he seems really weird. And I don't want to be like him. So, I don't want to wear them anymore."
She replied.

Wow. That's kinda rude. He seems really nice.

"Lexi. That's mean. You don't even know him."
I said back with a little bit of sass.

"So?"
She asked.

"Lexi, you can't judge a book by its cover."
I told her getting a little frustrated.

"I know this b. But, he's not a book soo..."
She trailed off.

I walked away from her and went to bed band locker.

I put in her combination and grabbed her glasses.

I walked back over to her and slapped them into her hand.

"Put them on. You love them. Your not going to change yourself. I wanted to be friends with you. Not some judgy bitch."
I said with an attitude.

She smiled and gave me a massive bear hug.

Also known as, well, her famous bear hug.

She gives the best hugs.

You should hug her sometime.

"Wha-wha- I'm so confused. Why are you hugging me?"
I asked with obvious confusion in my voice.

"You're the best friend anyone could ever ask for Maddie. Thank you for doing that. Everyone needs to be put in their place every once in awhile. I needed to be told. Really glad your not afraid to do that."
She smiled widely.

"Hey, what are friends for?"
I replied.
