"Hokage-sama?"Sakura knocked thrice, standing outside the large oak doors patiently. The sun was barely peaking from below the horizon as if it was waking up as well. When the tired voice of the Hokage beckoned her inside, she felt guilty for coming in so early. Quickly she opened the doors and closed them behind her, smiling at the Sandaime before bowing respectfully. "I apologize for barging in so early in the morning, but I have a request Hokage-sama."
The elder chuckled, waving the concern away with a puff of smoke. "No worries, Sakura-san. What is your request?" She took a few steps forwards so that she was directly in front of the Sandaime but still a respectful distance away. "If it wouldn't be too much of a problem, I want to use the library at the top of the tower to train a student in medical ninjutsu." The man raised a brow in amusement before leaning back in his chair. "Of course, you may use it any time you wish Sakura-san. Who are you teaching?"
"Nohara Rin, Hokage-sama. Thank you, but that's all I came for." Sakura informed bowing to the man once more before disappearing to the place she was meant to meet Rin. She was surprised to see the young girl there ten minutes beforehand--it showed she was diligent and eager. A very faint smile lifted the corners of her lips. Rin was far too much like Sakura and she wasn't sure that was a good thing. Look where that's gotten her, dead and in the past. "Rin-san, the first thing I want you to do is bring this fish to life."
Needless to say, Rin was a very promising student. She revived the first fish only after two attempts! Well, you must consider the fact that she had prior experience and knowledge before Sakura swept her under her wing. But, just because she was promising and all didn't mean Sakura was going to work her any less.
"Sakura-sensei? What is the regular schedule going to be?" The girl asked whilst wiping away a sheen of sweat from her brow. Sakura, who was lounging casually on the couch near the table in front of the pond, tilted her head to the side in thought. "Hmm...every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday you have to come in at the same time. Either that or after the scheduled practices with Minato-san and the team." She replied. "I want you to practice every day until you can't get it wrong. But not so much you fall over, alright?"
Rin nodded in understanding, determination gleaming within the brown of her eyes. The two stayed there until well past noon–only stopping when Kakashi appeared with his indifferent expression and suspicious glance in Sakura's direction. He still didn't trust her or her story–but he couldn't deny that she seemed to be doing everything she could to help. Sakura didn't feel a need to prove herself to the young boy, she just did whatever she thought was right. And now, that included saving his friends from their destruction.
"Kakashi-san! What brings you here so early?" Sakura chimed, placing her book down gently with a grin on her face. Rin was concentrating hard when she heard her call out Kakashi's name–causing her to flail her arms and spin around to face the young ninja. "Kakashi-kun?!"
The boy sighed and rolled his eyes. "It's past noon Sakura-sensei. " he deadpanned, causing the pink haired kunoichi to laugh awkwardly while rubbing the back of her neck. "And I'm here because Minato-sensei invited us all to dinner at his place. He told me to tell everyone." The silver haired ninja stuffed his hands in his pockets and spun on his heel to leave when Sakura placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Why don't you walk with us Kakashi-san? Your company is enjoyed." The female suggested, giving a closed eye smile. Kakashi stared for a moment seeming to contemplate the offer before clicking his tongue and disappearing. Both Sakura and Rin sighed little mushroom clouds with drooping shoulders. "Ah...I guess he still doesn't trust me." Sakura murmured with a small chuckle.
Rin turned to her, extending her arm to pat the girl on the back. "Don't worry Sakura-sensei, he's always like that. You just have to do something that will earn his trust. I promise he's a really great guy." The brunette with purple markings assured with an encouraging smile. Seeming to be filled with energy, Sakura stood ramrod straight with her fist raised in the air enthusiastically. " I swear I will show him I'm trustworthy! This is nothing to me."
"Oh, we should probably head to Minato's house now. Kushina-san will get cranky if we let the food get cold." Rin said with a shiver. Sakura nodded, gesturing for Rin to lead the way. "I still don't know where Minato-san lives...ha. Please lead the way." She said. The brunette giggled before shaking her head and doing just that.
"Really Sakura-sensei, it's like you have no care in the world!"
Oh how wrong she was.
