Chapter 6

Kia's P.O.V.
In my hotel room:
Vector is calling , said the text displayed on my phone screen. I answered.
V:"Hey girl! What's up?"
K:"The ceiling." I said casually trying not laugh.
V:"No shit Sherlock."
And the both of us erupt into a fit of laughter.
After we calmed down he asked:
V:"Anyway, besides shitty puns, how's in America? How's life?"
K:"Well not that good." I said trying to hold back the tears.
After I said that I could basically hear Vector's jaw drop to the floor. In every trip that I went with my parents was going well but not this one.
V:"What do you mean?" Said Vector worried.
K:"My parents died. "
Then I told him the whole story that happened two days ago and by the end I was already crying.
V:"That's it!" I could hear Vector's fist being slammed against his table at full force. "I'm booking the first flight to Boston, to see you. No fighting, I'm coming and that's it."
K:"Ok." It was all that I managed to say between the sobs and tears falling.
V:"See you in a couple of hours, baby girl."
K:"See you, bye.."
V:"Bye."
You asking why is he calling me "baby girl"? Well,  because he is kinda like my second brother.
And then I heard a knock on my door followed by
"Kia, open the door it's me, Mark."
I dried my eyes and went to the door to open it and put on a fake smile.
M:"Hey Kia! How ar-. What happened? Why are you crying?"
It's like he can see through my smile, unlike anybody else.
K:"Oh, it's nothing. Haha." I faked a laugh.
He raised an eyebrow and giving me the look:"I know you're lying so spit the truth".
I gave in and told him.
K:"Ok, you got me, I'm not okay. Can you stay with me and talk, please?"
M:"Yeah, sure!"
And we went inside the room and just started talking about my situation and my sadness.
After I finished my thoughts Mark said:
M:"What do you think is going to happen to you? I mean where would you live?"
K:"I don't know.. Probably in an orphanage."
M:"Wrong!" Mark screamed excited for some reason. "I want to ask, would you like to live with me?"
I was mesmerized by this guy's kindness. I was just a random fan after all.
K:"Um, I would love to live with you, but I will only be a burden." I said sadly.
M:"No. You are not a burden, and will never be one. I already talked to the judge and signed the paperwork. You are my daughter, now."
I was speechless.
K:"Really? Oh my lord, thank you so much, you are too kind!" I said while hugging him. My way of saying thank you.
After that we just talked, laying in bed,  discussing different topics, until Mark fell asleep. And then I fell asleep, too.
Mark's P.O.V.
I woke up to someone crying and whisper-screaming.
I look to my left and I see Kia crying.
I brought her close to me.
M:"Shh, it's okay, I'm here. Please stop crying, nobody is gonna hurt you" A nightmare probably, I told myself.
But she didn't stop. I held her closer to my chest and then I could hear that her crying is slowing down by the second. After she calmed down. I fell asleep, again.
~Time skip until morning~
Jack's P.O.V.
It's 8:45 AM and Mark and Kia didn't show up in front of the hotel at 8:30.
Felix:"What's taking them so long?"
Wade:"I don't know."
Jack:"I'm gonna go to their rooms and see, you wait us here."
W, F:"Okay."
I went to Mark's room first, I knocked,  no response, I tried to open the door but it's locked.
Off to Kia's room then. After I arrived I knocked, still no repsonse. I opened the door and I see Mark hugging Kia.
"We're just friends" That bitch told me.
Anyway no time to be jealous, we're running late.
J:"Mark, Kia wake up!" I slightly shouted.
I see Kia waking up,  and Mark as well.
M:"Oh, hey Jack! What are you doing here?"
J:"Oh I'm gonna tell you what am I doing here!" I'm getting angry again. "You and Kia overslept. It's 8:52 AM and we're running late!"
K:"Oh shit! Come grab your stuff and come let's go!"
M:"But our clothes?!"
K:"We fell asleep with our yesterday's outfit. No time to change."
Kia's P.O.V.
After we grabbed our stuff we ran outside, in front of the hotel where we met Felix and Wade.
F:"Oh right on time! You didn't arrive late, no, not at all." Felix said sarcasticly.
K:"Yeah, yeah, good to see you too, cut the crap and let's go!"
We got in the car and the ride was silent.
After we arrived I see Jack talking to Mark next to the car.
Mark's P.O.V.
Jack asked me I could talk to him
J:"So Mark, why were you hugging her?" He said with a little bit of anger in his voice.
M:"Well, I think she had a nightmare and I tried to calm her down."
J:"Yeah, sure."
M:"Seriously now. I'm telling the truth. And so you know I adopted her. Last night we talked about everything and nothing and she told me when she was little and she had nightmares her father would hold her like this and she would calm down."
Jack's jaw dropped to the floor.
J:"I'm sorry Mark, I didn't know.."
M:"It's okay Jack, but please next time can you not be so angry?"
J:"I will try."
M:"Come on now, we're running late."
After that little talk we went inside the building to our last signing session.
Kia's P.O.V.
I got a call from Vector. He said that he is right now at the airport. I approach Mark and tell him:
K:"A good friend of mine is at the airport right now, I'm gonna pick him up, okay?"
M:"Wait, you don't know how to drive! Oh, wait. Superpowers. Ok,  I got you."
K:"Ok, see you in five minutes, bye!"
Then I teleported to the airport and I see that prick standing there on his phone.
I walk behind him and:
K:"HI THERE!" I scream at the top of my lungs, and drawing all the attention towards us.
He dropped his phone but before it hit the floor I caught it.
K:"You're lucky that I caught your phone."
V:"Oh, fuck off you scared me to death!" He said trying to hold back a laugh.
K:"Aww, it's nice to see you too, Vec!"
And then I hugged him.
After we talked for a couple of minutes I teleported us back and introduced Vector to the guys.
When the signing session ended it was nighttime already,  and we went to the hotel.
Vector claimed the bed next to mine and all of us went to sleep because we had an early flight tomorrow.
