"Leo, wake up you're going to be late for your first day of school!" My mother shouts through the tall wooden door. I've already been awake staring at the ceiling for a while now. I do it often. I start counting the cracks on the ceiling, that still hasn't gotten repaired. So, far I always reach up to two hundred and sixty-five. My father never has the time to come fix it. Not that it matters, it's a great pass time when I'm not able to fall asleep. I groaned getting up from the bed and reaching for my shoes. I have already been dressed. I deal with insomnia at points and I have to take medication for that as well. Along with my depression, and anxiety. I grab my book bag and make my way downstairs. "There's my handsome boy!" My mom says as I enter the kitchen and I make my way to the plate of pancakes on the table.

"Did you sleep well?" She asks taking a seat next to me with a mug of coffee in her hand. "Yeah," I lie as I drizzle syrup all over my pancakes. "That's great!" My mom says pressing a kiss on my head. "What's great?" My father asks making his way to the table that held a cup of coffee in front of his seat. "Leo has been sleeping well lately." My mom says taking a bite of her own pancakes. "That's great, must be all the exhaustion from football practice, which reminds me! You have a game tomorrow." My dad says before taking a sip of coffee and setting the mug on the table. I nod even though everything that is being said at this table is complete bullshit. Not that I should give a shit, it's always going to be like this.

"You ate rather fast there," my dad says as I get up to put the plate in the sink. "Yeah, I was hungry and I can't wait to go to school," I say grabbing a water bottle from the fridge before I make my way to my book bag. "Before you leave Leo make sure to take your medication." My mom says grabbing the medication in the cabinet and putting all of the pills in her hand. "Here you go," My mom says handing me over the pills. I sigh and put them in my mouth and opening my water bottle to swallow. "That's my boy, now have a great day at school." My mom says giving me a kiss. I make my way out the door and spit out the pills in my mouth. All of them fall into the dirt, I make sure to cover them with some dirt before leaving to school. There was no way I was going to start to take those pills. They were terrible, they made me feel nothing. I rather feel like shit than nothing.

I make my way to my friend Nathan's apartment building. Nathan and I have been friends since fifth grade I believe. I was having a rough time and he was there for me. Ever since then we became very good friends. I make my way to the apartment building and see Nathan sitting on the steps on his phone. "Hey there asshole," I say taking a seat next to him. "Sup?" He says not letting his eyes get off of his phone. "You seem busy, should I just walk to school alone?" I ask him. "What?" He says taking his eyes off his phone and looking directly at me. I bring my eyebrows up questioning him. He nods and gets up. "Oh yeah, let's get walking I'm sorry about that I was texting someone." He says looking to the side, my eyes soon follow as we see Samuel Seth Stone step out of the building. We were forbidden to talk to him by the whole team. Samuel was known for being gay ever since he tried to kiss Tyler Eaton in sixth grade, which is the reason why Tyler moved all the way to London.

"Hello," he says walking past us, both Nathan and I stand still not really sure on what to do. All the other football players picked on him, but we had no clue what to do. We were always okay with Samuel's sexuality. We were all even friends at one point. "That was awkward," Nathan says as he begins to walk towards the direction of the school. "Very awkward," I agree watching as Samuel speed walks away. "So, who were you so intensely texting?" I ask him. I had a hunch who it was though. I had seen him flirt with a girl on the cheer leading squad called Ximena. I don't know much of her, just that she is a brunette, brown eyes, very short, and I think her ethnicity was Puerto Rican.

"Just some girl I met over the summer." He says, with a lazy shrug.

"You mean the girl you've been flirting with before, after, and during practice?" I question.

"Alright, so I've been talking to Ximena." He says, his cheeks turning into a bright pink.

"That's my boy!" I said patting him on the back, and laughing at his embarrassment. He shakes his head and moves forward through the crowd. I catch up to him and walk silently next to him all the way to school, adding a couple of sexual jokes about Ximena and him.

"Did you get your schedule?" I ask Nathan as I make it to his locker. "Yeah, here it is," He says handing it to me, I check all of our classes to only see we have two classes together. "We have lunch and English together," I tell him as I hand back his sheet of paper. "At least we have something," He says as he slams his locker. "I'm going to get heading to science." He says as we give each other a fist bump. I make my way towards my locker and spot a girl with shorts with long black hair, all the way to her ass. Her nice perky ass. I open my locker and stack it with some notebooks and shit it, and taking out my lock to make sure no one takes anything from it. I look over to my right to see the girl staring at me. "What's your name?" I ask her. She freezes and clears her throat.

"Me?" She asks with a surprised look on her face.

"Yeah, you," I say with a light chuckle.

"My name's Stephanie." She says blushing lightly.

"Well, Stephanie it seems that we will be seeing each other a lot," I say, making her look away. "Seems like it," she says. I chuckle and begin to walk way. "I'll see you around," I say looking back at her, and making my way to first period.
