"Pregnant? We're expecting?" Killian asked in disbelief.
"Yeah. I'm so so sorry," Emma apologized. Her voice cracking as tears streamed down her face.
"Why are you sorry? This is what I've always wanted!" He picked her up and spun her around. It brought a small smile to her face, but she was still confused.
"Back on the ship, you said that you wanted to be married before we have kids."
"It doesn't matter though. Love, I am the one that did this to you, right?" The sudden itch popped up behind his ear, and he scratched it. "You aren't seeing anyone else, are you?"
"Of course not! Yes, this child is yours." Emma looked down to her stomach, and refused to look him in his eyes. "So, you're not mad then?"
"Of course not! We'll just get married as soon as we can. Assuming you want to get married of course. I don't want to force you and think that just because we are expecting a child together means we have to get married. I love you, Emma, and I want you to be as happy as I am, but I want to make you even more happy, but if you just want to stay as we are I'm fine with that too."
"Killian?"
"Yes?"
"Shut up." She stepped up to him and leaned up on her tiptoes to kiss him.
Killian pulled away and grabbed one of the rings from his finger and knelt down in front of her. "Emma, I have always loved you, and I will continue to love you too. I know it isn't the perfect engagement ring, but will you accept it until I can make it the ring of your dreams in a few days? Will you marry me?"
Emma giggled, "of course I will!" She held her hand out and he slid the ring up her finger on her left hand. When he stood up, she fused their lips together, not ever wanting to let him go.
"Let's go tell Brennan and Liam the good news." He held out his hand for her and went back inside the little cottage. Liam and Brennan were sitting in the living room, having a small conversation with each other. As soon as the couple came in, they stopped talking. Killian held Emma's left hand up. "We're engaged!"
"Congratulations, Son," Brennan said and stood up. He held out his hand for Killian to shake, but Killian surprised his father by hugging him. He hugged Liam next and watched as they each gave Emma a small kiss on the cheek.
"Well done, little brother!" Liam congratulated and clapped him on the back.
Killian rolled his eyes, "I think you mean younger brother."
Liam shook his head, "nope."
"I think we are going to head off now. Celebrate everything that's going on." He told his family with a knowing smirk on his face. Emma blushed bright red and looked down at her feet, letting her hair cover her face to hide the blush. "If you know what I mean," Killian continued.
Emma elbowed him in the side and looked back up. "It was nice to meet the both of you." She turned to Killian. "I'll meet you outside."
She stepped out of the house and took a deep breath. Who knew that meeting your boyfriend's real family would be so stressful? She looked up at the sky to see overcast. It had grown darker since they had arrived, and she worried if they would get back to the inn before it started to rain. Killian came out a moment later and wrapped his arm around her. They began walking down the dirt road to the city.
"We might have to pick up the pace. I think it's going to rain," she informed and looked up at the sky.
"Nonsense, we'll be back at the inn in no time. Surely before it starts to rain," he argued. "But I can always carry you back if you don't feel like walking."
She looked over at him and laughed. "Yeah, okay," she said sarcastically. "Let's just get back before the road turns to mud." She started to speed walk and when the city was in sights, the first rumble of thunder could be heard. "Shit."
"Cmon, love." He held out his arms and she just stared at him with confusion on her face.
"What?"
"Let me carry you."
"I'm fine with walking, Killian. Let's just go."
"Swan-"
"Stop."
They continued walking and just got inside the inn when it started to rain. They trudged up to the steps and into the room. Emma fell onto the bed with a sigh. Killian crawled over her and placed kisses down on her jaw, neck, and lips. Emma moaned and wrapped her arms around his neck. He began to slide her dress down her shoulders, placing a kiss on every patch of skin that he exposed. "I," kiss. "Love," kiss. "You," kiss. "So," kiss. "Much."
Emma giggled. "I love you too." She started to take his jacket off of him when a huge crackle of thunder shook the building, and a second later, all the lights went out. They both looked up. "So much for that."
Killian pushed on her shoulder and back down to the bed. He smirked as he began taking his jacket off first. "Who says we have to stop?" Emma moaned her approval and helped to take off both of their clothes. After they were finished, Killian held her in his arms. The blanket was draped over them both. He held her left hand and watched as she ran her fingers over the ring. It was the one on his little finger of his left hand. The only one that was small enough to fit her hand. He let go of her hand and brushed her golden locks behind her back and kissed her neck. He sucked love bites into her skin, and neither of them seemed to care. "You are mine," he growled into her skin.
"Yours," she breathed out. Emma didn't care that she sounded so needy. He would be the only one to ever hear it. "Always."
