I woke up to the sound of yelling. My parents were fighting again and don't get me wrong, they were wonderful parents, but they often fought.I looked at the clock on my bedside and almost fell off the bed. I was going to be late for my first day of the senior year if I didn't get dressed RIGHT NOW. I quickly had a bath and wore washed blue jeans and a white plain top with a gray scarf (picture above). I brushed my straight golden blonde hair into a thin French braid and applied some lip gloss. I then grabbed my bag, phone, wallet, and keys and walked downstairs for breakfast.
As soon as I stepped down, I could smell hot chocolate in the air. Just a whiff of hot chocolate put a smile on my face. I thanked my mom for breakfast and quickly finished it. I was about to go out when my mom stopped me. "Have an amazing day, honey! Are you excited? New year, new friends, new car" she said and gave me her best smile. "Yeah I guess I am excited, but new friends? Not really. In fact, I'm getting late and I have to pick up Belle in about 5 minutes. Bye, mom. I'll see you later!" I replied walking out and shutting the door.
I walked towards my new car and smiled. My parents had bought me a new car last week for my senior year at Eastview High.
It was a red Lincoln MKC and it had black leather seats which made it look really posh. I put the keys in and started the car and drove to Belle's house while listening to the radio, which was playing a Selena Gomez song.
She didn't live that far away. Just a couple blocks down the road and since she lived on the way to school it was even more convenient to pick her up.
Isabelle and I had known each other for a really long time. We had been living here in Austin for as long as we can remember. We had been best friends since first grade and still are.
I reached her house and saw her standing outside her house on the lawn waiting for me.
She was wearing an off shoulder white crop top and dark blue high waist jeans. She had copper coloured hair that complimented her complexion and they were rolling down her back in light waves. And to top the outfit she was wearing a golden locket that I had given her when we were 14. It rested right below her chest and was a heart that opened up to a picture of both of us.
"Hey, Sierra! Omg, I'm so excited! We're finally seniors! We are going to rock this year!" She beamed in excitement. "Calm down Belle!" I laughed and said. She got into the passenger's seat and suddenly her eyes widened. "YOU GOT A NEW CAR?!"
I might've forgotten to mention this to her that last week my parents bought me a new car. "Yeah. It's nice isn't it?" I said sheepishly. "So, anyway, what class do you have first?" She asked. "English Literature with Mr. Friel. You?" I replied while parking into the school parking lot. "I have that too!" She said.
This year was off to a good start. Too good to be true, surely something bad was ought to happen.
Isabelle was in my homeroom so we walked to homeroom together. As soon as we stepped in, I knew this was going to be one hell of a year. I had the "It guys" of our grade in my class. The It guys being Jackson Winston the most popular guy in our grade, player, football team captain and most of all, VERY hot. He had golden brown hair a little darker than mine and emerald green eyes.
The second was Austin Blackwood. One of the popular guys of my grade, again, player and jock. He had blonde hair and blue eyes.
And the last was Daniel Anderson who was the class prankster, the funny yet popular one and the only one who wasn't a player.
And to add to that there was Sophia Brown. She is was the queen beech of our grade. She was the head cheerleader and was the biggest flirt of our grade.
I walked and sat in the third row which was the furthest from them and near the window. Isabelle came and sat next to me and begin talking "Can you believe it? The HOTTEST guys are in our homeroom! This year really is going to be amazing!" she beamed. "Yeah," I replied, not really interested in the guys.
Our homeroom teacher soon came and her name was Ms. Ally. She was young and looked really pretty. She had fiery red hair that suited her very much.
She began taking attendance, and soon she was done and she had started briefing us about senior year. Then she passed us out a sheet in which were options and we had to choose one of them as our elective. Out of all the options which included Singing, Dancing, Chess, Computers, Robotics, Cookery and Creative writing, I chose Creative Writing as it seemed the most interesting to me.
Then we had to go to first period Literature. It was room 22A and it took some time to find that room.
Somehow after roaming the halls for a really long time Belle and I found the class.
We entered the class and came to see a short man with Gray hair sitting on the teacher's desk. He looked like he was in his late thirties and had a frown on his face. Great, our first moody teacher of the year.
We chose a seat in the centre of the room to create a good impression. "He looks like he wants to eat us. " Belle said. "Don't judge him so fast Belle" I replied with a short giggle.
After the class was over I felt much better. He wasn't that bad. He was a little strict but he seemed pretty nice otherwise.
Soon as the day rolled by I found myself staring at an endless crowd of students in the cafeteria.
I quickly scanned the crowd for any sign is belle or any of my other friends. We all were a huge group. Belle, Nick, Samantha, Andrew and I.
Nick was also a jock but a nice one. Samantha was more of the shy, kind one. She and I had one thing in common that we both absolutely LOVED reading and were hopeless romantics. Andrew was the rich one. He was a nice guy, not so popular but his dad was the second richest man in Austin.
I soon spotted Nick sitting all one on a table and frantically waving at me. I walked over, set my tray down and asked him how his day had been
"Amazing! I have so many hot chicks in most of my classes and they all notice me! It's all the perks of being so irresistibly hot" he boasted. I just laughed. Nick was always like this.
Soon all of the others joined us at the table and we all had lunch together.
After lunch, everyone parted ways except me and Sam. Both of us had Maths with Ms. Jones.
As we walked into the class, I saw that there were only three seats left. All three of them were on the last bench and I honestly didn't mind because I really disliked maths. There was one near the wall, and the other two were next to it.
Sam ran to the one next to the wall before I could tell her that I wanted to sit there.
Since we were best friends I let this pass. I went and sat next to her and hoped that no one would come and sit next to me because I really wasn't a good conversationalist.
As soon as class started, Jackson Winston came in and sat right next to me.
And as soon as that happened I knew that this was going to be the worst possible year. What could be worse than having the most arrogant boy at school sit next to you?
