It was a peaceful fall day. Leaves were falling from the trees, and it was the perfect time for deer to breed. But there was one lone buck who had been left behind because it had lost a battle. The deer lifted its head up. It was aware it was being watched. It's ears flicked as it listened for what could be watching it.
Standing in the leaves, bushes, and trees, hidden, Jennifer took aim with her bow and aimed for the buck's head. She was shocked the deer hadn't run away yet, but she fired soon, hitting right where she wanted to hit. The deer collapsed. She knew she never missed a shot.
Jennifer had been practicing the bow ever since they had fled a year ago from her old village and home. Her mother was the best archer in the village and she had learned most of what she knew now from her mom. She dearly missed the village, but yet she didn't remember much about it, yet in her heart there still was a place for it. The thing she missed the most were her parents and Emily.
Have you gotten food yet?
Jennifer chuckled. "Yes I'll be there soon, Tornic."
Good, I don't want you hurt.
"Why do you always think I'll get hurt? I'm fourteen years old I can take care of myself."
Just after that night a year ago I just have been a bit shaky, I'm sorry.
"It's fine." She grabbed the arrow from the deers head and cleaned it, putting it back in her quiver. She soon started dragging the deer back towards a cave, but she stopped mid track. Something was watching her. She gingerly reached for her sword from its sheath. All of a sudden four wolves leaped out of the shadows and growled at her. They didn't want the deer, they wanted their own kill. Her.
Ignoring Tornic's worried comments she ended up sprinting away, navigating through the trees and forest. After a while, the wolves gave up the chase and padded off. Jennifer put her hands on her knees, breathing heavily. She then looked up, seeing familiar burnt houses, she walked around, inspecting the place. It was the village she was born in, the same one of that night a year ago. A wave of sadness went through Jennifer, she walked to where her house was. It had not collapsed unlike all the other burnt houses, she walked inside and scavenged around but found nothing but an old book of her father's. She decided to read some of it, a page was marked, she opened to that page. Her eyes slowly widened as she read. It said:

The one with the thunder dragon of gold will soon rise to be a powerful dragon rider. They will learn the magics, skillful fighting tactics, and they will face many dangers. They must rise to save the world from the terrible  creature of the night, darkness, and lightning. There are more prophecies, but this one is the first one to start the dragon rider's adventurous life. This is the golden prophecy.

She held onto the book and put it in her bag, then left the old village behind, eyes still widened. She blinked, finally regaining her senses and continued walking, thinking if she was the one to fulfill the prophecy. She finally heard Tornic's worried sentences.
Jennifer please answer me!
"I'm sorry Tornic, I was running away from some wolves, I'm fine, not even one scratch."
You will come home right away, I don't care if you lost the deer, I will hunt instead.
Jennifer laughed. Tornic had always been a great hunter, but his protective nature for her caused him to hunt near the cave they slept and lived in. She opened the book again and read the prophecy again, trying to find hints in it of who the chosen one was. She refused to believe it was her, it just couldn't be her.
When she got home, Tornic rushed to her and licked her face, glad she was ok. Jennifer laughed, "Tornic, now you've gotten me all slobbery."
I'm dearly sorry, I was so worried. That scent, that's your father's scent. He sniffed the book
"Oh, I found our old home and our house. Found this book."
Tornic soon started studying it, till they heard a voice, "Jennifer?"
The voice sounded so familiar. Jennifer looked at the cave entrance, "Emily!"
