Xpunge is an accumulated group of a few exceptional students attending Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted. This group attends to jobs or missions that the X-men aren't available for doing.
Currently these exceptional students are the only students attending the school; for with the great promises, such as living in a world without need of conformity, Magneto offers an opportunity of freedom away from the main land that's hard for anyone to resist. This place, that's constantly preached about in secret mutant meetings, is called Genosha. An island full of mutants that live under the influence of Magneto is a dangerous thought.--------------
At the mansion three of us were getting ready for our own mission to Genosha. We wore our signature Xpunge outfits, which was a tight black and navy blue, one piece jumpsuit with a large white X crossing over the chest and stretching to the back, also with the addition of black gloves and boots. Our small spy team walked in the jet-hanger where Storm, Scott, and Jean stood waiting for us.
"I'll give you guys a quick debriefing of the mission your about to undertake." Scott spoke in a serious tone. " You are going to spy on Genosha from the outside of the island in the middle of the ocean. We need you to bring back information on the whereabouts of the mutants there, Magneto, and most importantly Charles Xavier. As you three are aware two weeks ago Jason and Laurie had undergone their own mission in infiltrating Genosha and their report on the matter of Magneto and Xavier had been inconclusive. It would appear that certain parts of the island remained closed off to most of the inhabitants."
"I'm still surprised that Laurie and Jason are working so well together. They're usually at each other's throat." Rico crossed his arms.
"But Scott, Xavier has been missing for over an year and we already looked there for him. It was the first place we looked and we didn't find him then so why would we find him now."
"We didn't look for him there. We asked if he was there. For all we know Magneto could have been lying then." He seemed to have gotten a bit flustered from my comment. "I know Xavier's there. He has to be." Three periods worth of silence followed his sentence end.
"We should be going while it's still dark." Storm tried to divert the awkward tension as she turned to head towards the jet.
We all followed suit entering the jet one after the other but before I got on I looked at Jean and used my telepathic powers to communicate with her. "Jean, Scott is becoming a bit to obsessive and I don't know how long we can follow him as our leader while the professor is gone. If we don't find him here then you need to talk to Scott about stepping back and letting you or Storm or even Logan become our new leader."
"I know" Jean responded.
I knew that she wasn't lying about knowing this as a truth and a growing problem. He has been sending us on some ridiculous missions that did not have one link to the professor and he was clearly becoming desperate. Scott is grabbing on to any possible thing that will keep his dwindling faith alive and refusing to accept the most unfortunate but likely outcome."Good luck" Jean spoke and looked up at me.
I returned a slight nod then boarded the jet and taking my seat. "Ready" I told storm.
It only took a couple of seconds before the jet was soaring through the air towards the island of Genosha, but despite its speed it still took us three hours to get near our drop point.
"This is as far as I can go without Magneto being able to detect the metal of the plane." Storm yelled over the roaring jet and rapid winds. "Get ready to jump" the door opened and we slightly dropped in altitude. "3...2...1...Go."
We all jumped out into the freezing, black silk like ocean waters and stayed under until the jet was gone.
"Salvador create a platform" I instructed Rico by calling him his alias or superhero name if you will.
"Got it." Using his force field generation ability, a slightly visible, blue tinted rectangular platform forms in front of us. "Get on." Salvador's platform then forms a sound proof bubble around himself and the Oracle, Chieko. "Ready"
I linked us mentally so I can hear the cue to start. Turning around and looking down to face the water, I take a deep breath before letting out a sonic scream that propels us quickly forward towards Genosha. The small spec of the island was only visible thanks to the light of the moon and it grew more visible as we drew closer to it but not too close. We wanted to be close enough for our powers to be affective but still out of sight.
"Is this distance good enough for you Oracle?" Salvador had let down the bubble around them so I can speak to them normally.
"Yes this should be good enough." She looked off into the distance in the direction of the island. Her eyesight is able to see as far as 750 meters away. "What about you?"
"This is more that enough." My telepathic range is probably the largest of any telepath. "See if you can find magneto because if he's wearing his helmet I won't be able to sense him. While you do that I'll search through the memories of the people to see if they know anything vital."
"Be careful when going through their minds." Salvador spoke "you don't want to create the same incident as last time."
"It'll be fine. I'll only do a couple at a time." I reassured him but not myself. My telepathic powers were growing too rapidly for me to keep up with and they were starting to scare me. There has been times where I made people mentally impaired without trying and the Professor or Jean or Emma had to repair those people.
I sat down, crossed my legs and calmly entered two minds at a time rummaging through their memories. When I found nothing I moved on to two more. This continued for awhile with no luck at all.
An hour had passed in silence, only interrupted by Oracle's gasp. "No"
"What is it?" Salvador responded.
"No-nothing."
The silence returned once more with the accompaniment of ocean waves and once again it stayed another hour until one of the minds I entered without realizing was a telepath. She had caught me while sorting through her memories and forced me out. The result of her forcing me out was horrible on the other person's mind I was reading. I had carefully divided my power between each couple of people I probed so none would be overwhelmed. But by this telepath kicking me out she forced all my power on to the other guy and making me accidentally put him in a coma.
I took a deep gasp for air this time as if I've been deprived of it for hours. "Oh gosh." I was breathing heavily. "I've been caught and I put someone in a coma."
"Wait what?" Salvador looked over at me.
"Another telepath."
"Quickly put up a mental barrier or something so they can't track us."
"I can't I'm freaking out too much over the fact I hurt someone again. If I try now I can hurt you guys as well." I grabbed my head desperately trying to calm down but it was failing.
"Well we have to get away from here th—" Salvador was cut off by the moaning of Oracle. "What is it? What do you see?"
Oracle was rubbing her temples as if she had a headache, which she did. Every time her precognitive powers work she gets a migraine. "I see water." She paused to grunt. "Lots of water and we're under or in it."
"There's water everywhere. What are you talking about."
"Just quickly surround us with your force field."
Just as he erected his force field a huge wave appeared from behind and swept us away. We were thrown back and forth by the water without stop. Someone was obviously controlling this but who?
We were dizzy and disoriented by the time the water finally washed us ashore on the island of Genosha. Salvador had let down his shield, probably was out of energy from protecting us, Oracle was trying not to throw up but at the same time trying to keep her composure, and I struggled to see.
Three figures walked up to us and looked down at us while one last figure came floating down with their huge cape blowing in the wind."Magneto?"
