Neverland was a wonderful place. You couldn't have been happier living anywhere else. This place had stolen your heart from the time you heard about it; providing a magical escape from the pain of a life you withstood before. Neverland was your home, and it had been for quite some time now.
Living in the company of a tribe of boys, the Lost Boys, had it's perks - although, one would tend to focus solely on the inconveniences of being the only girl living with tons of boys. You quickly learned all of the ropes of living in Neverland, and were able to hold your own. It seemed that you fit in quite comfortably with Peter and his boys. They all, despite their distaste of a female being around at first, started to really enjoy having you there. You loved each of them, but Peter especially had your interest. Although you'd never admit it to him, he had your heart. He was mysterious, and charming; mischievous, and witty. A child wrapped within a slim teenager's body.
He loved a good game; this you had in common. You were a stickler for competition, and he claimed to "never fail", so naturally these games were rather intense to say the least. You hated to lose, and seemed to be doing a lot of it when you were around Peter. The cocky prick he is, he would rub it in your face, and of course you'd give it right back to him. That's how you were. Anything and everything that you thought, you said. You weren't afraid of hurting people's feelings, and you certainly weren't afraid of Peter no matter how intimidating he presented himself to be. This resulted in a close friendship between the two of you. You got to see a lot of things (though small they were) that most other people didn't get to see, and the good thing about Neverland was that no one was there to come between you and him. That is until shecame along.
She seemed to pop up out of thin air like a pimple, yet she claimed to be from some place called London. She was just there in the camp one day in her night gown asking one of the boys for some food. Instantly, the other boys were drawn to her. They weren't used to having new people around. You, however, were on guard waiting eagerly to see how Peter would react.
He casually introduced himself to her, the way he did when he met you. You didn't mean for it to happen, but you were jealous. Something about their nearness sent minuscule shivers throughout your body, and put you on edge. Turning away from the sight, and pushing aside the jealous feeling for now, you started towards the outskirt of the camp.
As you drew closer to the woods, a peculiar sound caught your attention. Instantly, your hand was on the only weapon you carried with you constantly: a dagger. No it probably wasn't the best weapon to carry around; it surely didn't have the reach a sword offered, but it was your weapon of choice. It had been through a lot with you.
Keeping as quiet as possible, you crept closer to the sound. It became recognizable to you the nearer you came to it: the sound of light feet on the wood-shaded earth. Feet that didn't want to be heard...
"Why hello there, deary." A deep voice whisked behind your right ear. You whipped around, dagger in hand, poised for defense before your brain registered anything. A sigh of relief escaped your body upon recognizing the person sneaking up on you.
"You should watch yourself, Felix." You responded, returning your dagger to it's sheath, "I could've hurt you." Felix, Peter's right-hand man and best friend (other than you of course), rolled his eyes.
"You have a keen ear, y/n. I was actually trying to be quiet this time."
You shrugged smugly. "Looks like you still have some work to do. I could've heard you from a mile away." He glared at you.
"You shouldn't be so overconfident. It could get you in trouble one day," He paused slightly, "especially with your lack of skill." You punched him in the shoulder.
"Shut up, Felix. I far surpass you in skill, and you know it. Don't be so.."
"Charming? Utterly and distractingly handsome?" He raised an eyebrow, but you continued on as if he never said a word.
"Vacuous."
"Whoa, big word. I'm impressed, however I'd be more impressed if I knew what it meant." He winked at you.
"Shut up, Felix." You said again, unamused by his attempts to flirt. He wasn't unattractive. He had nice dirty blonde hair that cascaded around his sharp features and hung just below his ears. His eyes were a nice shade of blue-green; inviting. He was quite cute actually. Maybe in another life, one that didn't involve Peter, you could be interested. But seeing as Peter wasn't going anywhere and neither were you, your heart and attention were fully and completely his... secretly.
You sat down on a nearby log to sharpen a knife you were making for yourself. Felix joined you. You sat in silence, looking towards the inner portion of the camp; both of you thinking the same thing: Who was that girl, and what were her intentions? Each thinking the same thought but for different reasons.
The days went on in the same manner that they always have: slow and uneventful with the occasional game here and there with Peter and the boys. With each passing day, your jealousy of that girl grew. Her and Peter had been spending a lot of time together, which meant that he was spending less time with you. You were talking with Peter the day before, and he told you her name was Wendy.
"It was the most peculiar thing, she said th-"
"I don't like her." You interrupted him, being totally honest.
"And why not? You've not even said one word to her." He responded.
"I just don't." He narrowed his eyes, suspicious. "Stop looking at me like that." You kept your impassive demeanor, but inside you were freaking out. That's it, you thought, I blew it. Now he's going to think I'm jealous, which I am but-
A slight change in his expression pulled you from your thoughts.
"You aren't jealous... are you?" You shook your head incredulously, but you were internally punching yourself in the throat.
"You're ridiculous. Of course I'm not jealous." He smirked at you and wiggled his eyebrows in the normal way that he does; it always made you melt and aroused at the same time. This was the last thing he needed; another thing to boost his rather obtuse ego. "I'm not dealing with this right now." You started to walk away from him, but he caught your arm. "What, Peter?"
"It's okay to be jealous, y/n." He said - clearly mocking you - with a wink. You jerked your arm away.
"Get over yourself, Pan." He crossed his arms and smirked, satisfied and clearly enjoying this new game. You walked away and the silence from behind you let you know that he wasn't interested in following you either. If there's one thing you've learned from being in Neverland, it's that if Peter wanted your attention or company, he would have it. And that's exactly the reason why you were so upset over this whole Wendy charade.
The next evening, you saw Peter and Wendy chatting away by the fire. Clearly flirting. It ate away at you. There had to be something you could do that could get Pan's attention back on you...
Felix sat down next to you, as he normally does. He was like a brother to you... but Pan didn't know that.
"So the craziest thing happened today..." And he goes on this ramble of what happened to him, but your thoughts were elsewhere. Felix was close to Peter, and the only way to see if Peter felt the same towards you was to make him jealous. Maybe, just maybe, if you acted towards Felix the same way that Peter was acting with Wendy, it will bring that out in him. It was a long shot - you knew this, but you had to do something. There was no way you would just sit around and watch this blasphemy continue in front of you. "Are you even listening?" Felix asked you, and after a few more moments of silence, he rolled his eyes. You had to do this while Peter was watching, and it had to be now. Why wait?
"I'm sorry, Felix. I was thinking about something." you smiled at him, "Tell me again." He gave you a skeptical look, but restarted his story. Again, you weren't listening. You were totally uninterested in what he was saying, but you acted as if you were; throwing in a laugh here and there, and making comments where they were appropriate. Every now and then, you'd subtly check to see if Peter was looking at you. Mostly you'd just see him and Wendy talking, but a couple times you two made eye contact. You decided to step it up a little. Asking about one of his weapons, you reached for his dagger sheathed on his right hip. He clearly didn't think anything of it as he continued telling you about it, and other ones he was making.
"That is so cool. I could never make anything this good." You briefly put a hand on his knee, "You're so talented." He shrugged, and you laughed a little. Your charade was interrupted, though, by a familiar voice behind you. Quickly your eyes shot up to where Peter had been all night only to find that he was no longer over there.
"Felix, could you go put some more logs on the fire?" Peter said, rather roughly.
"I don't think it needs more logs. The fire's going just f-"
"Go, Felix." Felix looked at him, still not understanding. "Now."
"Okay, okay. I'm going, chief." Felix said, mocking Pan as he walked in the direction of the fire.
"And just what," Peter walked into your line of sight, crossing his arms. Was he mad? "do you think you're doing?" He was definitely mad. Though you didn't know why - you were the one who should be mad, not him.
"I don't know what you're talking about." You crossed your arms as well, staring right back at him as he was you.
"Oh you know exactly what I'm bloody talking about, y/n."
"Do I?" He uncrossed his arms, and sighed angrily. Moving closer to you and getting eye level with you he said,
"I think you do."
"Please, inform me."
"Good God, y/n! I don't need to explainmyself to you. No one does! The entire camp could plainly see you practically throwing yourself on him. Why not just take your clothes off and speed the up the process?" He was pacing, and waving his arms around. You'd never seen him so mad. The only other time he was close to this was when one of the lost boys stole food off of his plate, and he's definitely more mad right now. It scared you a little.
"Peter. Calm down. You're totally overreacting."
"Don't tell me to calm down, y/n." His lips were curled up around his teeth as he talked. Then it hit you... he was jealous! Your plan had worked. You smirked at him.
"Are you jealous, Pan?" He scoffed incredulously.
"What makes you think that?" He sneered.
"Oh my gosh!" You jumped up from where you were perched. "You are jealous!" Peter looked away from you, still upset.
"So what if I am?"
"I can't believe it! Peter Pan is jealous." You let out a snarky chuckle.
"Don't act so surprised, y/n." He had calmed down by this point, and was talking lower than before; picking at something invisible on his finger."What do you mean?"
"You were jealous of Wendy."
"... So what if I am?" You threw his question back at him. He raised an eyebrow at you, and you bit your lip nervously. You both just held the other's gaze for what seemed like an eternity. Finally and suddenly, he closed the distance between you. The next thing that happened is something that only happened in your wildest and most secret dreams. Peter kissed you gently at first, the soft movement of his lips on yours was almost... magical. Then it progressed to something more passionate, like two lovers finally reuniting after years of being apart. The kiss deepened, and finally he looked at you.
"Still wondering why I was jealous, love?" He questioned, almost whispering. The nearness of his lips to your cheek caused your whole body to erupt in small chills. You looked up at him, completely at a loss for words, and rested your cheek on his-
