Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt.

I was woken up by the sound of my phone. It was a call from Cara, hmm unusual, I may say.

"Hello?" I said in a tired voice.

"HEY GIRL. Just wanting to remind you that.. today is the day. It's friday!" She said in a excited voice as she squeals. "Oh my god, me and the other girls have GOT to give you a makeover. Like, I'm not even kidding."

"Calm dooown. I'm not even excited. Geez, you people. Really excited about me meeting this new guy, aren't you?" I said while scratching my head and then grabbed my clock. 6:30, two hours before school. I am in luck.

"You're right, you're right. *phew*. I'm just, oh my god, it's been like what, a year since you dated?! It's time, Nicolette. Plus that guy is a 10, not even going to hesitate." Cara said.

"Well, maybe if you are this excited you know, you should go out with him." I said. Ah, nice plan, Nix. Throwing it on Cara, cause that's how I do it.

"Uhm.. no way. He's all yours." She said nervously, hesitated a bit. "By the way, I gotta go. I gotta shower. See you at school. Love ya, Nix!"

Before, I could say anything, she already hung up. Wow, okay. Those things don't happen oftenly anyway. I decided to shrug it out.

"Nicolette! Come downstairs, there's something for you." My mom said. Again? I mean after Tuesday? I'm not complaining but.. it's just weird. Well, it is the 'friday', so I should be expecting something, I guess. (??)

"What is it, mom?" I said as I brushed my hair and rushed downstairs. "I hope it's not going to take long, cause I actually want to take the first shower." I said again not wanting to get beat by Alexa.

"Okay." My mom said. "Someone dropped this off at the front door today, found it under the mat. Sneaky person." My mom said as she gave me a little box and a note.

"Thanks mom." I said to her as I received the ring and shaked the box. It didn't make any sound, must be something pretty special. Definitely not a marble. "Mom, may I ask what were you doing checking under the mat?"

"There was a doorbell ring and your dad told me that I can get the door at a minute. When I opened it, no body was there. So, I decided to look up, making sure it wasn't a surprise for you or your sister. Then I look down and there was a bulge in the mat. The person sure is sneaky." My mom said.

"Aah, I see then, okay thanks mom. Wait, how do you know it's for me?" I said to her putting a confused face.

"I don't know a feeling, I guess? Cause usually the guys who are with Alexa aren't exactly a charmer if you know what I mean. Remember, your Nick?" My mom said. Ah, Nick. He did used to give little surprises like this, it was sweet. Until I found out he cheated. "Read the note! I want to know what it says."

"Fine. I said as I read the note in my voice:

'There's a shop down the street, where they sell plastic rings for 3 dollars a piece. I know that it's cheap, not like gold in your dreams but I hope that you'll appreciate it.'

Wear it tonight. I will be seeing you in the park, don't turn me down.

- JJ" I said. What a weirdo, I said. Good thing that I know that it's him, otherwise I would be like 'excuse me, who the hell are you?'. Bet he knows that I know who he is. Smart.

"Aww, that's sweet honey. Do you know who the guy is, though?" My mom said. I wasn't really focusing on her as I was looking at the clock and it was 7:30am. We start school at 8:30, not to mention my long shower and waiting for the bus and...
