A New Addition

It's been a month since I met Josh. We have hung out almost everyday since. We walk around our neighborhood and find new cool places to hang out and talk. We talk for hours and hours. It's weird how easy it is for us to talk. We talk about anything and everything that's on our minds. We talked about our problems to the happiest times in our lives. I like him more and more everyday.

My aunt had been diagnosed with breast cancer a couple months ago and it was really hard for me. I could talk to him about it and he never seemed annoyed with me. He always knew what to say. He know exactly how to hold me while I was crying to make me feel better. He told me about his dad. His dad had past away when he was only ten in a plane crash. He got teary eyed every time he talked about his dad, but he never cried. He seemed as though he was trying to be tough around me. I understood, so I didn't say anything.

We are sitting on the beach one day after school, just talking and he starts telling me about his friend from Arizona. Her name is Allison. I started to get worried. Is he trying to tell me he has a girlfriend? Why would he be telling me all about her if they were just friends. He tells me about how their mothers worked together before they move and how they've known each other since they were little. I tried not to show how disappointed I felt. I nod my head and seem very interesting in his friend, while inside I am having mini panic attacks. A couple of his words grab my attention. "Her family's thinking of moving here." I look at him and smile. Now I know why he was telling me about her. Maybe he was just hoping we would all be friends. Hopefully that's what he was trying to do. "When is she moving?" I asked to keep up the conversation. "In a couple weeks," he says with a huge smile across his face. "I can't wait for you guys to meet! You guys will love each other!"
