Patrick's POV
I woke up to feel something slithering on top of me. My eyes opened to find a large red and black snake slithering on my chest. I bolted upright, sending the snake flying off me. It hissed at me and slithered back into the woods.
I looked around and saw I was in a clearing surrounded by a forest. 'How did I get here?' I wondered. I remember waking up in a hospital chapel after that "party", Pete trying to free me and being tranquilized, us all being thrown in a van, being chased by the kids, then it all goes blank. Where were the others? What happened? Why can't I remember anything?
"Well you aren't going to find any answers laying here." I told myself, climbing to my feet. There was a small path in the forest. I remembered that path from last night. There was a flash of red and black that disappeared into the trees, definitely a person. Could it have been one of the guys or Jasey? If it was those women, they would have been running at me, not from me. That narrowed it down to where the others were, so I decided to follow the path. It led me out to a deserted road, maybe there was a town nearby or some signs telling me where I am.
It didn't take long for me to get my answer. I began walking down the side of the road when I heard the roar of a truck engine. I looked back to see a bright red truck speeding down the road.
"Hey!" I called out. waving down the truck. It stopped shortly in front of me. I ran up to the passenger side.
A girl was in the drivers side. She was really pretty and kind of reminded me of Jasey. Her hair was dark brown, wore a large wide-brimmed hat and a blue sundress. Her eyes were a stunning hazel just like Jasey. "You lost?" She asked.
"Uh, yea." I replied. "My friends and I got lost."
She leaned over and opened the passenger door. "Hop in. I'm Foxes by the way."
"Thanks." I smiled, climbing into the truck. "I'm Patrick."
"Very nice to meet you Patrick." Foxes smiled as she continued driving down the road. "So, where are your friends?"
"I'm not sure." I replied. "We each split up in the woods last night after some crazy stuff happened."
"Wow," She glanced at me. "Must have been some pretty messed up stuff."
A few miles down the road, I found someone limping down the side of the road. I couldn't see his face but I recognized the tattoos on the back of his neck even though they were obscured by blood and dirt. "I think that's one of my friends." I pointed him out to Foxes.
"Where?" She asked, sticking half her body out the window as if she forgot she was driving.
"Shit!" I swore, grabbing the steering wheel to keep us from driving off the road and hitting Andy.
"Oh! Sorry!" Foxes snapped back to her senses and climbed back in the truck, taking a firm grip on the steering wheel. We pulled up next to Andy, who was waving us down.
"Hey." I stuck my head out the window. "Good to see you again."
"Same here." He replied, walking over to the truck. "Where are the others?"
I shrugged. "Don't know. Hop in the back and we'll keep looking."
Without another word, Andy leapt into the bed of the truck and the three of us kept on down the road. We picked up Joe soon after. He looked relieved to see us.
"Where's Pete and Jasey?" He asked, climbing into the back of the truck.
"Not sure." I turned back. "They should be around here somewhere."
Sure enough, I was right. Pete was a few miles away on the outskirts of the forest. Three found, one left. I looked back to see the three of them huddled up together and relieved that we all had found each other alive.
I noticed a car pull out in front of us, meaning that there was another road. I was halfway right. It led us to a parking lot. Someone dressed in red pants and a black tank top was sprawled out on the pavement, covering their face with their hands. He or she must have heard the truck pull in because they sat up to reveal that it was Jasey. Her face had even more blood on it and her Youngblood jacket was tied around her leg as a makeshift bandage. Her shirt was tied around her waist Like the others, she looked happy to see me. I was happy to see her too.
"Hey." I called out.
"Hey yourself." She smiled. "You got a little blood on your face."
I laughed. "You've looked better yourself."
"You have been living in a tour bus with me for the past month, so you have seen me at my worst." She shrugged.
I rolled my eyes. "Climb in back. The others are there."
"Thank god." She said, staggering to the back of the truck and climbed in with some help from Pete. She slid up to me and awkwardly hugged me from the side. "I'm just happy you're okay Pandabear." She whispered in my ear.
"Me too." I whispered back, giving her a quick kiss on the neck. I didn't want to let go of her.
Sadly, she pulled back and leaned up against the side of the truck. Pete offered her one of the jugs of water they found, which she gladly accepted. The four of them all had this reassured feeling of safety with them. Andy, Jasey, and Joe sat and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the forest, while Pete leaned against the side with both middle fingers raised up high. Classic Pete.
In the daylight, the woods actually appeared to be peaceful. But it probably helped that we weren't being chased by kids with weapons trying to kill us.
Suddenly, Foxes took a sharp right turn into a hospital. It looked deserted. "What are we doing here?" I asked her. She didn't respond. I looked over to her and saw that her eyes had gone completely black.
'Oh no.' I thought. It was a trap.
