A Forever Love?

Chapter 7

    I finally was able to kick down the door and get to my boys. He was tying up Blake and Markus and smacking them with a leather belt. I yelled and cried when I saw my boys getting abused. He then saw me and went after me smacking me in the face and bruising my body as he punched and kicked me. He caused me to have broken ribs, a swollen face, black and blue eyes, and a sprained elbow. Everyday it got worse and after a week of torture and pain, I finally called the cops to take him away. A gorgeous cop named Jake Love came to help me. He saw the bruises and immediately called for back up. They showed up almost instantly and tackled him down and took him away. He was charged with domestic abuse, child abuse, and endangerment of a minor. As they took him out of the house, officer Love asked,
        "I'm so sorry you had to endure that. You're beautiful and you don't deserve that treatment. I know this is a shot in the dark, but would you like to go out once you're healed?" I smiled even though it hurt to smile with swollen cheeks.
         "Of course I would," I said as he gently hugged me and helped me pack a bag and brought me to the hospital. I felt like I was in heaven. My heart felt like it skipped a beat when he handed me a piece of paper with his name on it and his cell number as well at his pager number. He took me in his police car and carried me into the hospital gently. He then proceeded signing me into the hospital and put his number down as man emergency contact. I fell in love with him when I first laid my eyes on him. He was charming and sweet and helped me get to the hospital he went back for my boys and they said he would rape them too. I was brought to tears when my own sons said that. Alex deserves life in prison for what he did to my boys and I. Once I was released from the hospital with my boys we went to a lawyer to get divorce papers for him in jail. The lawyer faxed it to the jail he was placed in and a guard made sure he signed it. As time went on Jake and I had spent a lot of time together. Two years to be exact. He was the best thing to ever happen to me and we were all treated the proper way. No more beatings no more yelling at each other. Just peace and quiet and having fun. This is what a family should be like. Loving and compassionate through everything life throws at you. After two years of being together, Jake has been keeping a secret. What could it be? I asked him about what he was hiding and he said,
            "You'll just have to find out tonight now won't ya." I was nervous but he brought my boys with too. It seemed as if they were in on it cuz they kept smiling at each other. We went out for dinner and Jake randomly says,
            "Sam, I loved you the moment my eyes met yours. When we met, I felt a big part of my heart was found and started beating again. Before you, I was alone and afraid to be alone forever. But now I know I don't have to be alone anymore. Because now I have you and your boys in my life. So Sam," he kneels down "Will you marry me?". Tears well up in my eyes and the boys look at me smiling.
          "Yes! Absolutely yes!" I exclaimed. He put the ring on my finger and the boys get up and hug both of us. Finally a family worth living for.
