Phoenix and me were running around and playing football with other members of the pack when Carol came and called us to Oliver's office.
"Phoenix what the hell did you do this time?" I asked him,"I swear Paisley I haven't done anything" he replied.
Honestly being called to his office was the same as being called by the principal because of something you've done
We entered and sat on the very familiar chairs, "Hey Olli" I said while he smiled at us.
"I called you both because we I have to tell you something important; I think the right time has come" He said. We gave a slight nod ,"so y'all have a few years more till you get mates, I have to tell you about Mates..."
"This isn't the 'Talk' is it?" Phoenix asked making my face go red in embarrassment as I looked at him from the corner of my eye
"No it isn't" He chuckled, "I trust you and being royals even if you 'do it' with someone you don't need to worry as only your mate can carry your child, but I prefer that you don't even 'do it' with anyone except your mate" He said with a strict tone towards the end

"Okay I'll get straight to the point. Finding mates for Royals is not the same as a normal wolf, even if it's an alpha
The moon goddess didn't want rouges tricking the royals to believe that they were their mates, so she changed stuff for them. The thing is a Royal werewolf like yourselves, has a mark is usually on the wrist, your mate has a similar mark on their wrist but, only royal wolves can see it.
That means your mate may not even know that you are his or her mate until they touch you. Any form of contact, be it a hand shake or a hug or anything, the slightest touch and they know y'all are mates. But it has to be skin to skin touch, material such as simple cloth can also interfere with the weakening
You will however know beforehand because you can see it and the mark will be visible for others once y'all-" he cleared his throat "Fully mate" saying so he concluded.
"How do you know about this?" Phoenix asked, "I did a lot of research on this for your father" he smiled lightly at the memory.
"That means you can't see the mark on my hand?" I asked he just shook his head. "Are you serious? You can't see this crown shaped birth mark?" I asked again. As he again shook his head, "it's shaped as a crown? Wow" he said.
"Cool thanks Oliver" Phoenix said and left to continue his game.

Dinner was uneventful, and probably the most boring, lengthy dinner I've ever had.
After it dinner everyone was talking to each other and socialising. Ew.
I was standing at one side eating my dessert which was mint chocolate chip ice cream when I felt someone stand in front of me. I thought maybe someone was passing by but that 'someone' coughed, and got my attention, I looked up. It was Alpha Asshole.
He seemed to be in a better mood than before. "I've heard that you're the best warrior?" He said a bit unwillingly. I just nodded showing respect, "I guess we started off on the wrong foot" he said trying to smile but it came off as a grimace.
Asshole, was trying to kiss my ass just because I was the 'best warrior' Damn. But anyway, I just smiled before I could say something he spoke, "I'm Alpha Cliff, the Alpha of The Crest Pack" he said and stuck his hand out for me to shake.
I was about to shake his hand when I noticed something that made my mind fuzzy and I felt mixed emotions. Fuck. He had a crown symbol on his wrist the one he put forward for me to shake. Maybe it was a tattoo. Yeah. But I can't take the risk. I just looked at his hand and back at him. It was counted as disrespect to humiliate an Alpha and by not shaking his hand that's exactly what I was doing.
'Phoenix! Phoenix. Fuck where are you' I yelled in our link, and he rushed to my side. He looked at the alphas hand and my face and put his arms around me and growled lowly. The Alpha retracted his hands and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry are y'all mates?" Alpha Cliff asked. "Um," I muttered. The heck no ew he's my brother. "No, its okay I understand. You must be newly met mates, no wonder he's so possessive" Alpha Cliff replied with a weird look.
"I'm sorry about that Alpha. I hope I didn't disrespect you in anyway" I said playing on with the false notion he had.
He just chuckled but his mood had dampened. "That's a nice tattoo, you have there Alpha" I said trying to know if it was one or not, "Tattoo?" He asked confused looking at his hands.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuckity. Fuck. No. I have a mission to complete. I have to find those rouges. I can't have a mate right now.
"I'm sorry Alpha she's not feeling well if you don't mind may we be excused?" Phoenix asked his hand around my waist. "Yes you may I hope you feel better soon" he asked and we walked away rushing to my room.
After closing the door Phoenix stood there and looked at me questioningly. "What just happened Paisley?" He asked, "Um. Nothing" I replied shrugging with an innocent face.
"Paisley Len Williams. Do not lie to me. The fuck just happened?" he asked getting angry. I know that he was confused more than angry and as I've never lied to him this must've scared him, "I found my mate" I said softly, if he wasn't a werewolf he wouldn't have heard it.
"Go on" he said, "it's Alpha Asshole" I said. "You mean Alpha Cliff? Heath?" He asked not sounding too shocked. "Yeah" I said back, he had a small frown on his face. "Are you going to reject him?" He asked while I looked at him as if he was crazy
"I don't believe in rejections and even if they did work I'd still not reject him werewolves are lucky they know who their soulmates are I'm not taking this for granted." I said looking him in the eye.
"Then what was that, why didn't you let him know about you?" He asked, "I don't really know, I guess it was too sudden for me. I just need some time and I want to know how he is without him trying to impress his mate" I replied in full honestly.
"He's going to know pretty soon you know that right" he reminded me, "yeah, but thanks for that tonight" I said, "Anytime Pace. You know I'd do anything for you right? It's you and me against the world." Phoenix replied, then muttered a goodnight and closed the door going to his room to sleep.
Oh god tomorrow is going to be one hell of a day.
