*Sarah's POV*
Over the next few days, the weather got hotter and people were starting to show their true personalities.
Norman was out doing a trial while the rest of us were just relaxing in the sun until her got back, hopefully with good news.
"It's too hot." Jack complained as he lay down on a hammock across from Perrie, "Can we put the canopy down?"My eyes flickered up to the pretty white material that was above our heads. It's main purpose was to keep the camp somewhat dry whenever we recieved heavy rain and to keep the fire going.
"It's nice in the sun." Perrie muttered, "If you want to be cool, sit in the shade."
It wasn't as if there was nowhere for people to go. I mean, there were plenty of trees to stand under which I was doing. There was also the creek which is where I'd be heading if the temperature raised any further. It was just a little bit too hot for me.
Harry came down from the Bush Telegraph area, shaking his head, "They're not going to put the cover down."
Jack frowned, "How about this? We all take our microphones off and put them over by Linda? They'll have to put it down if we all protest!"
I rolled my eyes and pushed myself off of the tree trunk, going to go up to my bed and get my water flask.
"Jack, you're the only one who wants the fucking thing down!" Alan exclaimed as I walked past him, making me snigger.
I climbed the small hill to the sleeping area and suddenly stopped.
Making its way under my bunk was a fairly large Komodo Dragon.
Slowly approaching it so I didn't startle it, I managed to grab both my water flask and backpack before backing away quickly. I didn't feel like being attacked by one of those. Not now, not ever.
I slowly made my way back down, deciding that I'd go to the Bush Telegraph to tell them and see if they had any ideas on what to do.
I dumped my stuff on the ground by the fire, barely listening to those who were bickering about the canopy.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked from behind me, making me jump.
"For goodness sake! Don't do that!" I cried, clutching my chest
He laughed, "Sorry. Why have you got your bag?"
"There's a dragon under my bed." I answered, smiling up at him.
"No way!" Show me!" he said excitedly, grabbing my hand and hauling me up off the log I was sat on.
I let him lead me back up to the sleeping area and I pulled him down so we were both on our knees, pointing to where the dragon was now looking like it was asleep.
"That's so cool!" he whispered, looking down at me -even when kneeling he was a good bit taller than me- "How come it didn't go under my bed?"
"Maybe it smelt you." I teased, laughing at his face before giving his shoulder a nudge, "Kidding."
From back down by the fire, we heard Norman saying that he had won all twelve stars and our other campmates let out loud cheers.
I stood back up, "I'm going to go ask if anyone has any suggestions on what to do."
************************************
A few hours later, a few of the rangers had managed to coax the dragon out from under my bed and told me that it was safe for me to go put my stuff back.
