✧ chapter eleven ✧

wes wrapped his arms around my waist. his body radiated warmth against me, but it also brought shivers down my spine because of how close his embrace was. he moved his face near mines, placed his finger under my chin, and turned my face toward him, planting a soft kiss on my lips. i shifted my body sharply so that i was standing in front of him, releasing his grasp. i then cupped his face in my hands and deepened the kiss.

"ella.." he moaned against my lips. "ella."

"ELLA!" i jumped when i heard someone scream my name. i looked around my room, panting, and saw dani staring at me. i needed a moment to process what just went on through my brain; must've been a dream.

"it's 9:00 and you were supposed to get up half an hour ago." dani had her hands on her hips. i looked her up and down and saw that she was already done getting ready.

"shit." i mumbled, scrambling out of bed. i went to the bathroom and took a really quick shower. thank god i washed my hair and styled it already the night before. i brushed my teeth, washed my face, did my makeup, touched up my hair, got dressed; the usual routine. when i was done, i looked at the time and saw that it was 9:52. good enough.

"i'm ready!" i yelled, grabbing my bag and running down the stairs. dani was already at the door with our luggage. i grabbed mine and we both headed out the door.

we managed to fit everything in the trunk of the car, surprisingly because dani always packs excessively. we got into the car and dani started it up. "ready?" she asked, looking over at me. i took a deep breath and looked back at her. "ready as i'll ever be."

"ella, wake up." dani nudged my arm. "mm." i hummed, shrugging her off.

"we're here, bitch. now get up before i push you out of this car." she demanded, already pushing me. i woke up instantly, yelling, "i'm up! i'm up!"

i rubbed my eyes and looked out the car window. i saw the familiar big house that i grew up in my whole life. i remember being a child and playing out in the front lawn with my older brothers, who are working and living out of state now. i could almost vision the slip and slide that my parents used to put out on this lawn every year during my birthday parties. after a few seconds i got out of the car to help dani bring the luggage to the front steps.

i pulled out my old house key from my set of numerous different keys. i always kept this key even though i haven't lived here in a while. i walked in and the scent of mistletoe was still present. my mom loved that smell all year round. seeing the inside of my childhood house made me want to cry. it also made me realize how much i missed living here.

"you okay?" i heard dani ask from behind me. i sniffled and wiped away the tear that almost ran down my cheek. "yeah, i'm fine. just reminiscing."

"alright well, i'm just gonna bring these upstairs and then we can leave. it's already 2:30 so we need to get going."

i nodded, and dani started heading upstairs with the luggage. in the mean time, i pulled out my phone to see how wes was doing.

@okokalright: great! i love it here. i'm already at pp, waiting for all the fans to start flooding in 😬

@ellaenchanted: wow you're living the life, surrounded by screaming girls huh?

@okokalright: eh it can get overwhelming, but i love everybody who supports me and my music :) i wish you could be here too, it would've been great to meet you

dani came down the stairs. "you ready?" she asked me. i nodded and we both left the house and got into the car. luckily pressplay was literally in the same area as where i lived, how convenient.

@ellaenchanted: the feeling is mutual.. but we can always meet another time. i won't lose hope yet and i hope you don't either 😉

@okokalright: believe me when i say i'm not losing hope 😌 how's that road trip??

@ellaenchanted: suuuuper long. next time i go on another road trip, remind me not to go somewhere that takes 21 hours to drive

"texting wes?" dani smirked while parking into the venue. i looked at her and rolled my eyes. "well yes, but he had to go since they were already letting people in."

we both got out and looked at the building we were about to enter. it was literally huge, but that makes sense. for the most part, it was pretty easy to know where to go.. all we had to do was just follow the lines and crowds of fans.

10 minutes later, it was our turn to give security our tickets. dani held out her phone so they could scan the ticket that was on there. the security guard gave us a warm smile before he let us in, and we returned the smile. the venue felt even bigger inside, and it was so overwhelming with all of these people crowding at every corner. now i knew what wes meant when he said it was overwhelming.

there were different rooms that had talent names on the doors. dani and i kept walking until we found the door that said "wesley tucker". it took a while, but when we did, dani gave me a look before turning the knob. i gave her a nod of reassurance, and she opened the door.

i know this probably isn't how pressplay is really set up, but i've never been so i'm just imagining how i think it would be organized :)
