"it was rubbish"

'So, you're leaving tomorrow, right?' I asked Brad, while we were walking in front of Emily and Natalie, finding our way back to the Ziggo Dome. It had been a great afternoon, we had showed them Amsterdam around. While walking back, we trusted Natalie's phone, it said we had to walk ten more minutes.
I thought he was going to say yes, but instead of nodding he shook his head. 'No, Joe found a good recording studio in Amsterdam, so we're going to take a look there tomorrow.'
'But what are you doing there?' I asked curious. 'I mean, you could also record songs in England, right?'
Brad laughed a bit, me knowing nothing about the music industry.
'Well, if a country or city inspires us, we stay a bit longer there to use that inspiration  and write new songs with it. And sometimes, we record it in the same studio.'
'What's your inspiration here?'
'The city.' He looked around him and pointed at a few typical Dutch houses next to a canal. 'Look at that, you don't find that in London.'
'We're almost there!' Natalie said, behind us. 'Three more minutes, it says.'
She was right, a few minutes later we were behind the building. And after the security had recognised us, we sneaked inside.
'That was easy,' Emily said, while we were walking in the long hallway. We heard familiar voices behind a wall, so we opened a big, black door on our right, and walked into the big buffet with all of the people of the team.
'Finally, you're back!' Tristan, who was sitting on a table with Connor and their girlfriends, waving at us. 'Come, sit with us.'

An hour later, after a lot of fries and chicken wings, it was time for the show. Joe brought Emily and me to the area in front of the stage, next to the photographers, press and security, so we could see the show from a really good angle. We walked up to the middle of the area, and I recognised the girl from the queue, who was standing right behind the fences. And she clearly recognised us too.
'You two again? You're on the wrong side of the fence,' she said, with an arrogant face.
'We know,' Emily said, grinning.
The girl pointed to one of the security guys, but he didn't see her. And at that moment, the show began. The boys of The Tide came up, and everybody started clapping and screaming.
Their first song was apparently one of their biggest hits, because everyone was singing along.
'Don't you know this song?' Emily screamed.
I shook my head and laughed. 'But I can still dance!'
After they had left the stage, the girl started talking again. 'Didn't you know the lines? Good fan are you.'
'Shut your mouth, please,' Emily said, truly angry. 'We're here for another reason.'
'What reason particularly?' the girl said, teasing.
'That's none of your business,' I said, irritated.
Luckily, the lights shut down, and a few seconds later, Brad jumped up the stage.
'AMSTERDAM!' He screamed.
I started smiling, and I totally forgot about the girl behind us.
James and Connor joined Brad from the left and the right, and behind him, Tristan started playing on his drums. It was a song called 'Rest Your Love', one of the few songs Emily had mentioned earlier.
Brad started singing, and during the chorus, our eyes met. He looked at me for a few seconds, in a way I couldn't turn my face away. Then he winked at me, and looked back into the crowd. He probably realised I wasn't the only one there.

The show was over. After everyone left the hall, the stage was almost empty already. We were sitting backstage, waiting for all the equipment to be packed, so that they could leave.
'What did you think of the show?' Brad asked me. He walked towards me and then sat on the table in front of me.
'It was rubbish.'
We smiled. Luckily, he didn't take it seriously.
'I was joking. It was actually one of the best shows I've ever seen,' I said in all honesty. 'I mean, not that I've been to a lot of concerts, but this was just such a special night.'
'Brad...' Someone from behind a wall was calling his name. 'We're leaving.'
Apart from Emily, Brad and me, the room was empty. We left the building short after he was called, and we saw a huge bus and a bunch of yelling fans waiting outside, behind a fence.
I couldn't hear them, I couldn't hear or see Emily saying something to me. All I could hear was the bus, driving away.
And all I could see was Brad, standing in front of the front window. However, he didn't look at the crowd, but he waved at me.
