"what do you think you're doing?"

The next day, Maria suggested to drive us to the Ziggo Dome, where the concert took place. We agreed, and after we had lunch, we got in the car.
We had a long night, as Emily and I gossiped about boys, Amsterdam and London the whole night. We only slept for three hours, and Maria seemed to notice.
'A little tired, girls?' she asked. We were sitting in the back, and she looked at us through the little mirror. 'It's going to be a long day and night for you.'
We just nodded, but didn't answer back.
'What's up with that boy you guys told me about?' she asked a few seconds later.
I immediately looked up. 'Who do you mean?'
'That brown haired guy Emily was talking about yesterday,' Maria said. 'The wannabe.'
'He's not a wannabe, mum,' Emily answered.
'Oh, so this is how I can get your attention?' Maria laughed. 'Wasn't he the one who invited you two to their concert tonight?'
I nodded, not really knowing if Maria could see me or not. Brad had texted me that morning, saying that Emily could come too. He also said the team was really excited to meet me. Actually, it was a pretty big deal for me, to meet everyone one day after I even met Brad. But if I wanted to go to the concert, I had to face the others too, of course.
'Are you nervous?' Emily asked me. She looked slightly scared herself.
'No, I'm not, but I think you are.'
Emily smiled at me, a little uncomfortable.
'There it is, right?' Maria pointed at a square building. It was huge.
'I think so.' Emily grabbed my hand and squeezed it. 'Now I'm nervous.'

It was almost 1 pm when we walked up the plaza in front of the Ziggo Dome. There was a bunch of girls already waiting outside. Some of them were sitting on the ground, others were dancing on songs I didn't know. They were all singing along, so I guess it was The Vamps.
'How can there be so many people already?' Emily said, while grabbing my arm. 'Come, we're going to the entrance. Hopefully we can come inside easily.'
'What do you think you're doing?' I heard a Dutch girl saying behind us. She grabbed my other arm, and I had to turn around. It was a blonde girl with glasses, she looked a bit older. 'The line ends there! You have to wait until seven o'clock, you can't just join us here.'
'Well, we are invited!' Emily said, proudly.
'Em, don't say that. Come, let's go.' I grabbed her arm instead and walked to the door. I heard the girl yelling behind our backs, and the girls in the line looked at us in disgust. Some of them were whispering rude things in Dutch, and someone behind me pushed me.
After a minute or two we finally ended up in front of the line. As soon as we stopped walking, the girls around us started being mean too. They even began to talk to the security guards, who were twice my height.
'What are you guys doing? Go back to where you come from!'
'We have been sitting here for almost four hours, you can't just come and sit here like it's nothing.'
'Are you kidding me? We deserve to be in front of the line, you clearly don't.'
'These girls weren't here first!'
Everyone in the whole line was paying attention at this point.
A security guard looked at me like I was trash. 'Is it true that you two don't belong at the back of the line?'
'Yes! Yes!' everyone in the line screamed.
'It's true,' I admitted. 'But we have a good reason.'
Suddenly, a few girls in the front started to scream. In no time, the whole line went insane.
'What's wrong?' Emily asked a younger and smaller girl, who wasn't mad at them earlier. She was almost crying of excitement, and pointed at the huge mirrors and see through doors, the entrance of the Ziggo Dome.
Someone opened the door, and the security guards let him come outside. It was Brad.
A few girls in the front touch him all over his torso and hair. It kind of surprised me that he just let it happen. But after a few seconds he stepped a few feet back, to be save from the fans again.
'Are they here for you?' the security guard asked Brad.
'Yes. Thanks, Chris.'
He walked towards us, winked at me and gave us both a hug. I heard all the fans scream, but I didn't really mind at that point. I knew they were all jealous.
'Let's go inside.'

'The fans were insane, weren't they?' Brad asked us, after we got introduced to the band. They were all in their chill outfits, and hadn't even started doing something useful yet.
I nodded. 'They're crazy. They all went mad when we wanted to get in front of the line. I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to tell them we did that for a reason.'
At that moment, Joe came in.
'Boys, you have an interview in five. What do you think you're doing?'
'We'll just go like this,' Tristan said, pointing at his sweatpants.
They all grinned, but walked away to the dressing rooms as fast as they could.

Joe brought us to the concert hall, where the team was setting things up. It was huge, Emily and I had never been there before.
'You two and the families of the band are going to be there during the concert,' Joe said, pointing to the front of the stage. 'Between the fences and the stage.'
'And the fans are right behind us?' Emily asked a little scared. We didn't want any other angry fans.
'Yes, but there's security all around you.' He winked. 'Nothing can happen.'
At the same time, a few guys carried guitars on stage, and two men were setting up the drums.
'That's for tonight,' Joe explained. 'It doesn't take that long, the boys should be here again in about ten minutes. Then they will start with the soundcheck.'

He was right, a few minutes later they appeared on the stage. Brad was wearing a grey hoodie and his black skinny jeans, just like he did earlier that day.
He noticed we were standing in the middle of the hall, and smiled at us. He tested the microphone, and changed the height of the microphone stand, as he was quite small.
'So...' He started talking, while James and Connor were improvising on their guitars quietly. 'Are you ready, Amsterdam?'
We screamed back, but they obviously couldn't hear us.
'Let's get a little closer,' Joe suggested.
There were a few other people watching in front of the stage, behind the fences.
'What? Nat, I haven't seen you in ages!' Joe suddenly said to a girl, who was standing with the other people.
She turned around. Her hair was dark red with bangs, and she had a familiar face. It was the Natalie we saw at the hotel.
'Joe!'
They hugged, and then she looked at us. I could see she remembered us.
'Are you... didn't I met you two yesterday?'
Emily nodded. 'We didn't forget you and your lovely dog, Natalie.'
She grinned. 'I'm Brad's sister.'
I opened my eyes a little wider. 'Oh, really? That's... cool.'
'Why are you here?' she asked. The others, who were standing with Natalie earlier, paid attention to the boys, who started playing a song I didn't know.
'Brad invited her,' Emily said, pointing at me. 'And I was able to come with her.'
Natalie smiled at me. 'I thought so. Brad told me about you.'
'Really?' I asked surprised, and a little curious.
'What did he say?' Emily asked, because I didn't know what to answer.
'All positive.' Natalie winked at me and smiled. 'You were not a fan, right?'
'No, I didn't know he was in this band.' I looked at the stage. The song sounded good, it was the type of music I liked.
'Do you know this song? It's called Rest Your Love.' She looked at her brother, who stopped singing for a second and smiled at her. Tristan, Connor and James stopped playing too, what meant to be the end of the song.
'I'm hungry,' Tristan said. You could hear it loud and clear, and everybody laughed.
'Shall we take a break, Tris?' I heard Dean scream at the back of the hall. He was trying to take picture of the inside of the Ziggo Dome, and was standing at least twenty metres from us.
'Good idea, Dean,' Tristan screamed back, and walked away from his drums, towards the small crowd next to us. He climbed off the stage and hugged a girl with black hair. Then, what was a surprise to me, he gave her a short kiss.
'And, did you enjoy Amsterdam?' he asked her, and he gave her another kiss.
'Yes, it's a beautiful city,' she said, in a cute British accent. Then, they walked away towards the dressing rooms, still talking.
'Who's that?' I asked Emily, but got an answer from Natalie.
'That's Anastasia,' she said. 'It's Tristan's girlfriend.'
'Is he the only one with a girlfriend in the band?' I asked, praying for Emily that James was single.
'Connor has Luisa,' Natalie answered. At that moment, I saw Connor hugging with a blonde girl five feet behind Natalie.
'And James just broke up with a lovely girl named Kirstie last month, because of the long distance. He feels awful about it, he hasn't been himself since the breakup.'
'And what about Brad?' Emily asked, smirking.
'He has been single for a year, but he's open for a relationship.' Natalie winked at me again.
I blushed.
'So, you met my sister already?' I heard Brad saying on my left.
He jumped off the stage and gave us all a hug.
'It's so nice to see you,' he said, while hugging Natalie. 'But where's mum and dad?'
'They will be here tonight,' Natalie answered. 'They're exploring Amsterdam at the moment.'
Then Brad looked at us. 'So, do you have any plans for today?'
'I thought we were going to watch your show today?' I said confused.
Brad smiled. 'That's tonight, we have the whole day left. So, do you guys know some kind of lunch rooms here in the city?'
