As soon as we got back home, we rushed upstairs, to Emily's room.
'You look a bit like your mum when you look at your room.' I laughed. It was as colourful as her mums clothes, with a dark blue desk, a green bed and pink and purple walls. Nothing in this room had changed.
'No way.' She shook her head. 'Not at all.'
'Yes, you do,' I said, then falling on my back on her bed.
Emily sat down on her desk chair. 'Have you ever been in love, Anna?'
'I guess I am now,' I joked.
'What? With Brad?' Her eyes started twinkling.
I laughed. 'No, I'm not in love. Of course not. It's just... he's cute. And English.'
'He's everything, I know,' Emily said. 'But still, he's famous, Anna.'
'So what? It looks like he feels the same way about me. The wink, remember?'
Emily giggled, but immediately became serious again. 'I don't think you have a chance, An.'
'I am not trying to get a chance with him, I just... I don't know what I want.'
'You want to see him tomorrow, do you?'
'Yes!' I totally forgot about his concert. 'There were still tickets left, right?'
'He said so.' Emily opened her laptop. After a minute or two she looked at her screen in a certain way.
'What is it?' I asked, hoping for the best.
'Sorry An... it's sold out,' she said disappointed. 'It says there's no ticket available.'
'What? But... half an hour ago it wasn't!'
'I don't really know what Brad says or how it happened, what I do know is that it's sold out.' She looked at me. 'I'm so sorry for you, An.'
'Can't we just go back to the hotel? Maybe Brad's still there!' I said, with still a little bit of hope.
But at that moment, Emily's mother stormed inside. 'Did I interrupt something? Sorry, but we have to go now. Our reservation in the restaurant is ready.'We arrived at the restaurant half an hour later. The first thing I saw was the amount of bikes that were set in front of the restaurant and around it. I suddenly realised how much I missed the bikes.
'We're in a hurry, ladies and gentlemen, so, come on,' Maria said, while opening the door quickly.
'What's going on?' I asked Emily.
'This is a pretty crowded restaurant, as you can see. If we're 5 minutes late, they'll give away our table.'
But we were just in time, so we sat down at our table. They immediately asked for what we wanted to drink. After that, Emily went totally insane.
'Mum, mum, mum,' she started. 'You won't ever believed what happened today.'
'Well... go on.'
'We... no, I can't, I just... An, you just tell. You experienced this too, so... come on.'
'Don't you want to tell it yourself, as you're the real fangirl here,' I said, confused. I was the one who bumped into Brad first, but for me it was just a guy. For her, it was her all time favourite idol.
'Okay, okay,' she said. She took a deep breath and started, again. 'So, mum, we bumped into someone from the Vamps today! Well, actually, Anna bumped into him first. Or, he bumped into Anna. I went to the bathroom just before it happened and didn't experience that moment, and then I met him too, in the hallway.'
Maria wasn't that surprised or excited, and just answered with a simple 'okay'.
'Don't you get it mum? I met my idol!'
Then it suddenly clicked. 'Oh! The cute, blonde one who you're in love with?'
Emily blushed. 'No, mum, the other one. The lead singer. Brad. Brad Simpson.'
'Simpson,' Ralph repeated, who is a fan of the tv show. 'I like that last name.'
Emily showed a picture to all of us. Somehow, he looked cuter in real life. How is that even possible.
'Just a wannabe,' my mother said.
That hurt.
'And he calls himself... a celebrity?' my father said, in disgust. 'I don't really like him. He looks young.'
That hurt too. I didn't want them to talk about him that way, even though they didn't know I actually liked him.
'He's older than me, though.' Emily looked at me. 'Than us, I mean.'
I smiled at first, but then realised I didn't even know how old he was. He looked 16 or 17, just like me.
'He's 21.'
I probably looked weird, but I couldn't believe my ears. 'W-what?'
'He doesn't look like it, but he definitely is.'
It felt like all the chances I had with him, suddenly fell into pieces. How can a 16 year old ever date a 21 year old?
'Do you like him too, Anna?' my mother asked me, in disgust, again.
'No.'After our drinks had arrived, and we had ordered our food - I had ordered pizza - we just talked again. Not about Brad or celebrities this time, but Emily, Ralph and me about the vacation, and the parents about work.
In the middle of the conversation, Emily tried to get my attention by making weird noises and picking me in my arm.
'What's with you?' Ralph asked, but she didn't look at him.
'Emily, what are you doing?'
She signed me that I had to turn around. So I did, and I saw the same waitress who brought us to our table bringing Brad and his friends to a large table in the corner, next to the bathrooms.
I couldn't stop looking at him, and I also didn't know what to say.
'He has a lot of friends,' was all I could say.
'Those aren't his friends,' Emily whispered. 'Well, they are, but not in that way. That's the Vamps!'
I looked my eyes out. They were with ten members or something.
'Why so much?' I asked.
'That's the crew too, don't you know? They're all part of the team.'
'And the Vamps...'
'They sit on the left, you see? From left to right: Tristan, my personal favourite, Connor, James and... Brad.'
I recognised Brad. He was just wearing something else, something more... formal. Tristan was handsome. Totally different than Brad, but I know why it's Emily's favourite. He had a very obvious jawline and hair that fell perfectly.
'Tristan is handsome.'
'Thank you for understanding me.' Emily smiled. 'But what do you think of Connor?'
His hair was in the same shape as Brad's, but it was a bit shorter. He also had the best fashion taste, and his face was mysteriously beautiful.
James, who was sitting between Connor and Brad, looked like one of the tallest. He had the best hair, by far, and looked a little shy, when you compare it to Brad or Tristan. He was wearing a blue shirt, what made his eyes sparkle.
'They're all gorgeous.'
And then... Brad. His hair fell perfectly in front of his eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, and left some buttons undone. He was wearing black skinny jeans, just like me, and he had a lot of rings, bracelets and a necklace, which was just like mine.
'What do you think of Brad this time?'
I grinned. 'He's perfect.'
