Chapter 3

Glacey's pov.

I woke up and Dally was still asleep in my lap. I slowly lifted his head and stood with out waking him. I got some of his clothes he left here before and placed them in the bathroom for when he took a shower and then went and put on coffee and started cooking breakfast. Soda was already gone and so was Darry. Pony would be waking up soon and Johnny and Two-bit will be here shortly so I fried up some eggs and bacon. Soon I heard a groan and I saw Dally sit up. "Hey.", I smiled. "Ughhh. Hey.," he growled. "Hung over?", I smirked. "What do you think doll?", he glared at me. "Go shower and then I got coffee and aspirin ready.", I said. He nodded and trudged to the bathroom. Just on time Pony got up and Two-bit and Johnny walked in. They immediately dug into the food and then Dally walked in after about ten or fifteen minutes. His hair was still dripping wet. He popped the aspirin in his mouth and then dug in like the other boys.

As I was cleaning up the kitchen the phone rang. "Hey guys can one of y'all get the phone!",I yelled. Pony answered and said it was Soda and he wanted to talk to me. "Hello?", I answered a little surprised that it was Soda. "Hey sis. Um we kind of need ya down her at the shop. ", he said. "Ok I'll be right there.", I said and hung up. I changed shirts and the guys and I made our way to the DX.

When I got there, there was a load of cars and most of them were socs. I sighed and told the guys not cause to much trouble as I got to work. Steve and Soda worked on the cars as I was inside at the counter. Dally sat behind the counter with me and was kicked back in a chair with his feet up on the counter. Pony went with Johnny and Two-bit to the house not really feeling well. I rung up customer after customer. Then I froze when I notice the socs that jumped me walk in. The blonde one smirked and then I spotted ft he red head from at the movies, she wore a hateful scowl at the blonde as he grabbed a six pack for the cooler. He walked up me and gave me a wink. "That all?", I asked as politely as I could. "Depends. How much for you?", he asked. I glared at him. "She ain't for sale.", Soda snapped walking in. I let out a sigh of relief. "What?", the soc snapped. "He said she ain't for sale, now pay up or get out. ", Steve growled. The soc threw a five on the counter and stormed out with the others following. "Perfect timing guys.", I smiled at them. "We saw them pull ups so we figured they would be trouble. ", Steve said. "I'll see y'all later. I gotta go handle something. ", Dally said randomly as he stood. "O-ok Dally.", I said slightly confused and slightly sad. I was kind of enjoying his little bit of company. But I knew he was going to go start with those socs so i just nodded as he walked out the door. Then everyone went back to work.

"Pony I'm home! ", I called walking in the door. Then I saw him laying on the couch wrapped in a blanket. "Hey Pony... You ok?", I asked kneeling beside him. I placed my hand on his forehead and he was burning up with an fever. "Two is going to get me some medicine that Darry told him to get. ", he said softly. He was pale and he clearly didn't feel good. "Feel like anything to eat?", I asked him. "No thanks, sis. Ain't hungry. ", he mumbled. "You need to eat a little something. ", I said. Then I went to the kitchen and crapped a pack of crackers and a Sprite and took it to him. I handed it to him and he looked up at me pleading me not to make him eat it. "Eat Pony Boy. You'll feel worse if you don't.", I said and then fixed up a quick supper for Darry and Soda when they got home. Soon Darry walked in the door and saw Pony asleep on the couch. "How is he? ", he asked. "I think it's just fatigue, and a little viruse. He ate a little bit and now he is asleep as you can see.", I said. "I'll go put him to bed and is it ok for Soda to sleep with you tonight till Pony is better? I don't want him or you sick too. ", Darry said. "Sure fine with me.", I nodded. Then on que Soda walked in. "Hey Darry wants you to stay with me tonight since Pony is sick.", I said. "Ok fine with me. ", he smiled. I returned the smile and he and Darry ate as I showered and pulled on one of Sodas shirts that I stole and pulled on a pair or shorts.

When I walked out of the bathroom Darry was doing dishes and Soda was walking my way to the bathroom to shower. I walked over to Darry. "I can do it you want to go on to bed. ", I said. He smiled softly at me. "Naw you have done enough today. ", he said. "What have I done? ", I sassed cocking my weight on one hip. "Well let's see, you stayed up with Dally, took care of him this morning, fed them breakfast, went to work, came back and took care of Ponyboy, and cooked for me and Soda. ", he listed. "Even saying makes me tired. ", he laughed. "It's doesn't feel like that much.", I say honestly. Darry stops when he hears the hint of guilt in my voice. "What do ya mean?", he asked. "Darry, you work all day everyday. So does Soda,I don't do nothing compared to you guys.", I said. "Little Bit, if you did as much as us at work the house would run through the ground, you keep this place up, you make sure there is food in then kitchen, you take care basically six five year olds and still find time for school. Not to mention when you play softball too. ",he listed and even called me by my old nick name for him. Little Bit. "Wait you said six five year olds. Don't you mean seven?", I questioned. "I'm eight. Not five.", he joked. I laughed and shook my head. "Well better get on to bed Little Bit. Got work tomorrow don't you?", he asked already knowing I did. I nodded and went to my room and soon Soda walked in. He climbed in beside me. Many people would think it was weird we would share a bed, but he was my brother. I honestly loved when Soda stayed with me. It felt like back when dad would hold me when I had a night mare. I laid my head on his arm and soon we were both dead asleep.
