12-1-13

Sometimes things

Just fall away

Like the warmth of summer

Like withering hay

Moments fall away in ernest

A moment is today

One time I could smell something

And know it's still there

I could feel it and reach it

I could hold it, and care

Those scents

Aromas from the past

Are a tease

Seducing me

Like the summer breeze

I can't remember who said it

Which really isn't fair

But there's something to be said

For the thoughts in your head

And keeping them there
