Raining

I feel the rain rushing down my face, leaving little droplets of regret an sorrow

They say the rain is supposed to wash away the sins and sorrow

Leaving only the pure and clean behind, but not for me it's embedded too deep

My heart is awash in sadness and my soul bathed in regret I want to go back

Back to the time when I didn't have to worry about this back before it came

That's why we love the rain, myself and those like me, it's our rock

The rain is nothing more than water from the sky to most but to us its everything

It's the wind beneath our sails, the breath we exhale, it's our entire life

Without it we are nothing, we are empty and easily broken

The rain is our solace it's the one thing that keeps us sane in this broken world

It may make us feel sad but out of that sadness comes the meaning of our existence

In those short showers of water we feel we know who we really are

We wait to reconnect with our former selves and the rain does the best job of it

Showing us the world in a quiet light, nothing making a sound but the rain

that pitter-patter reminds us of the person we used to be the truly happy

Most of all the rain hides the tears of the person we've become.
