My mind was made up, I was going to prove to everyone that I wasn't worthless. The only problem being that I wasn't sure what I was up against. I needed information and the only place to get it was from Niel, so I had to wait for him to wake up. It was the best thing to do, although Angel made things much more difficult than I cared to deal with, if I woke him up, chances are he wouldn't have told me anything.

I laid in my parents' bed, resting, but unable to sleep. My nerves were on high alert, just waiting for any sign that Niel or Angel were awake. I looked at the clock, 5:17 am. Angel would be waking up in a little under two hours and Niel would hopefully wake up close to the same time.

I spent the next hour and a half alternating between, tossing and turning and pacing around the room. My nerves were killing me ans  I needed something to do or I would drive myself insane. Just be patient Ericha, I told myself, Angel will be awake soon. I heard footsteps outside the door and snapped all my attention their way. Niel was outside my door dressed only in his boxers. It's official, I thought, He's a male. "Do you always sleep dressed as a royal guard," He asked groggily.

I forced my comeback back down my throat, "I have a few questions for you Niel," I stated.

"Alright," He said, rubbing his face, "But can I use your restroom and put on some pants first?"

"The addition of pants would be nice," I retorted. "I'll have breakfast ready in twenty minutes, any requests?" Without an answer, he continued down the hall. "Idiot," I mumbled, "the bathroom's in the other direction."

As promised, I had breakfast prepared twenty minutes later. I set three sausage and cheese omelets on the table and patiently waited for the others to join me. Angel was the first to show, "What's the occasion," she asked , "and what the heck are you wearing?"

"Chill Angel," I replied dismissively, "I'll explain when Neil get his but in here." Right on cue, Niel popped his head in the doorway, sniffing the air like a dog.

"I didn't know you could cook," He said bluntly, "and wadda ya know, it's not even burnt!" I narrowed my eyes and began to eat my omelet. He and Angel exchanged a look before following my example.

Angel only ate about half of hers before dividing the rest of it between Niel and myself. "So Ericha," She started, "What's going on? I don't think I've ever had your cooking- except on my birthday and Christmas- and I know I've never seen you dress that way before." Both she and Niel looked at me expectantly.

"Niel, I know you might think I'm worthless, but I''m going to prove to you that you're wrong. I need someone answers, answers I can only get from you." And with that, my questioning began. We all sat there for over an hour, just putting the pieces together. I had everything I needed to start my quest, but the other two had no intentions of letting me go.

"Angie," Niel exclaimed, "please knock some sense into her! For Christ's sake Ericha, you don't even have wings!" For as long as I could remember, everyone always told me that a fairy's strength came from his/her wings, but I never believed them. "You wouldn't last more than five seconds against her," Niel stated coldly.

"He's right Ericha," Angel whispered, "You alone don't stand a chance of doing anyone any good."

"Thank you," Niel interrupted.

"That's why I'm coming with you," She finished calmly.

"Exactly," Niel said with a nod. "Wait. What? Not you too Angie," He just sat there, looking from me to Angel, and back again.

"Noo way Angel," I protested loudly, "it's way too dangerous!"

She just laughed. "We have always done things together," She reminded me, "why should that change now?" She had a point, but I didn't want to to get hurt, or worse. "Trust me Ericha, you need me."

"I suppose you would just follow me anyway," I lowered my head in defeat.

"Got that right" She shrieked.

"Then I guess it's settled," Niel said, his voice dripping with irritation, "the three of us will set off as soon as possible."

I nodded, not yet registering his mathematical error. "Angelinia," I said studying her face, " are you ready for an adventure?"
