Human!Rathalos X Reader: The King Has Fallen...

The rain poured hard as you continued to walk. You were sadly separated from your group leaving you in the cold weather, shivering your whole form. It was your fault since you had a habit of going on your own. You don't know where you were heading, only thinking where you can stay for now and keep warm. It rain even harder, making everything turn too blurry to see. But luckily you stumbled upon a cave. You entered it and it instantly warms you up. You were surprised how such a dark cave be so warm, yet you didn't mind it. What's important is that you found shelter, it's warm and you can rest. You walked deeper in the cave, and found random patches of wood that were dimly lit by fire, making have a few glimpse of the cave. 'Maybe someone must have been here?', you though as you walked. The ground soon felt soft. You looked down and saw the whole ground was covered with pelts, soft fur and a some had a few patches of hay to thicken up and act like pillows. The corners were framed with woods and branches. It almost looks like a nest. You looked at the condition out side on a huge hole on the top wall of the cave. It's already night and stormy.

The softness of the floor and the exhaustion was getting to you. You sat and removed some of your hard armor, putting them to the side. The pelts against your tired muscles and sore skin was a great feeling. You sighed in satisfaction and grabbed a piece of pelt to use as a blanket. Soon enough you were knocked out cold.

The storm was still strong, yet a lonely wyvern flew across the sky. Annoyed as he gripped his hunt in his talons. 'Urgh! Stupid rain!', he thought as his territory came in his sights. He entered the huge whole that leads into his cave. After placing his hunt on the side, he proceeds to shake of the rain water off of him. With droplets flying around, some landed on your face. You slowly woke up after a good night's rest and stretching your arms. You soon stopped when you saw the Rathalo's back turned against you. You slowly pulled your armor under the blanket you had and slowly hid your whole body under it. You slowly put on your armor one by one, while keeping a close eye on the monster. Yet you were surprised once again as you saw the Rathalos shrink and took form to a more... Human like. 'Is this the epidemic rumor that everyone was talking about?', you though.

His monster features was there, but you got a glimpse of his face. You got to admit, his not bad looking. You mentally slapped your self as you continued to put on your armor before he noticed. The Rathalos grabbed a piece of meat and proceeded to eat it. This is a good distraction! You just have to leave silently. Rathalos were aggressive and territorial after all.

Everything was going okay... That was until you forgot you have a weapon and trip over it. The noise echoed and the both of your heads turned to stare at each other. The Rathalos quickly turned back to it's beastly form. Growing huge and intimidating in size, he let out an angry roar. "Crap...", you said as you quickly grabbed your weapon and ran to the opening. Yet a ball of fire landed on the exit of the cave. You dodge to avoid it and quickly looked for another way out.

You ran around and avoided the Rathalos's attacks. As you were losing some your energy from the running, you saw a small glimpse of light from the thick vines and branches on the corner of the cave. Quickly pulling out the weapon and used it to make a way out. Jumping out of the little hole, you landed on the soaked ground by the rain. Looking up you saw the Rathalo's head stuck in the hole you made. His mouth had small blazing fire, he sure is pissed off. You laughed at monster. "Hahaha!!! You're really THAT pissed at me?! Hahaha!... Bearing the title 'King Of The Skies' makes it even hilarious! Anyways thanks for the stay-", you turned to walk away, only to fall off the cliff. First you forgot you had weapons, next you forgot that you were on the high grounds. You slide and tumble on the mud slide as the rain was still pouring. "Urgh! Argh! Ouch!", you groaned as you finally stopped on the bottom. "(Y/N)! There you are! Are you alright?!", your fellow hunters said as they gathered around you. They were searching for you, and lucky you, you tumble in their way. You sighed and they helped you get on your feet. "C'mon (Y/N), you REALLY need a bath right now."
