One month later
My phone rang and I saw a weird number. I accepted it anyways.
"Hello?"
An automated voice came on.
"Hello." It paused for a second then I heard a voice.
"Carter Reynolds." He said then the voice continued.
"Would like to speak to you. To accept, press one."
My finger hovered over the keypad and I pressed one.
"Connecting your call. Please note, call may be subject to recording."
"Rose?"
"C-Carter?" My hands shook.
"Rose. We need to talk."
"Okay." I said. I felt small and weak.
"Babe you have no idea how sorry I am. I wish I could take back everything I did. But I love you. I love you so much. All I ask is for you to wait for me."
"Carter, I-"
"Please." He said. I started nodding but I knew he couldn't see me.
"I'll wait for you. I'll wait."
